I'm only an occasional participant in your isolation sessions because I can't learn the tunes fast enough. But I listen to, and enjoy, all of them. So please let me say thank you for making difficult times more comfortable by creating this great series. I'll also leave a donation on your site for some drinks on New Year's Eve!
Thanks for the invitation to do this John, and for your kind words. I don’t know about anyone else, but watching the #IsolationPubSessions come together has been a real mood lifter this year.
Yes, it's honestly been one of the things that's kept me going. I stumbled on them by accident around week 12 and it took until September to pluck up the courage to actually join in!
Agreed. It's also been great to take part in a few and learn some new tunes when I've been able to find the time. I miss playing in sessions and with my little band so much, and while I'm not a fully professional musician, making music with people is a huge part of my DNA that has been otherwise missing. THANK YOU JOHN.
I went with Burns’s original words, verses 1,3,4 and 5. Grabbed from Wikipedia here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Auld_Lang_Syne - I’ve been told by enough Scots speakers that it’s better to sing the Scots words in your own accent than to sing the translation or attempt an accent, so that’s what I do

Awww, John, you just made me cry! Thankyou for looking after us all until we get out of this mess.
With the dancing, does it matter if your audio can be heard on the video? Will you just add us all as silent movies?
any chance of a link to the lyrics Piers has used there? bit sketchy on most of the words!

1:10 he's been instrumental eh?
Well ... up until now he's been unaccompanied! Too late though ... the thing the #IsolationPubSession does best is accompany! Hahaha
John, where is the beat coming from that kicks in at 7:10 ?
My foot on a stomp-box! It's a piece of 7-ply wood nailed on to a frame of two by two ... with a boundary mic underneath.
@@squeezyjohn1 I thought that might be it, but the beat is so solid I thought maybe electronics was at play. I should have known better :-)
