I love how they only mentioned Backstreet and Nsync by name and none of the others, like O-Town. ABC actualy produced a show called "Making the Band" about the creation of O-Town, which of course Lou was all over...but there is zero mention of that here. Been going on since the beginning of Rock and Roll and before. Otis was lucky, he had Alan Walden looking after him, as did many others. You gotta watch these thieves. Alan still preaches that. This is the main reason I went the computer geek route and not the sound guy route, saw what was happening in the industry back in the 70's and said no thank you... and that is just on the techy side, much dirtier on the artist side. My advice to artists, record and develop in Nashville and do business like the country artists, regardless of genre. The way it is traditionally done there, everybody gets paid a fee, producer, studio musicians and workers, engineer, even the folks doing the master recording. The artists, for the most part own the music, the way it should be. Even Elvis Presley demanded owning half a song's rights if he just recorded it! Look at records from the 50's. notice a bunch have 'Freed' as a co writer - Alan Feed. Never wrote a song in his life... Dirty, dirty business. Seen many good, really good artists just give up because of it. Freaking shame these predators get away with it, over and over again.
