      Good grief, the man just spent minutes waxing poetic about the absolute phenom that she is and you want to cry about semantics. No, she did NOT play anywhere near as good in the first 11 games or so as she is now, and about 10 games before the break. She had a few 6-7 point-ish type games, was benched a few times, needed to get her sea legs under her, no biggie just rookie stuff which was inevitable thats all. Youre taking a snippet of what Dan said and making a federal case out of it. Get a grip

      Yeah, CC a little off in a few games to start, go and watch the pressure put on the rookie, not having the hot hand DT was showing. Then comes the Olympics so send old DT and hold off young CC. What, DT scored like 7 points total in the Olympics, games of 0-0-0 and never even played in the Gold game. Got her that number 6 gold thou and CC ... should be holding her 1st one.

      @@zooki4x4. the gatekeeper politics worked in CC’s favor. The fever took that opportunity to work on chemistry/defense/rest. It’s better for the league and for us as fans to have a refreshed CC that’s playing like she was in college and a Fever team that no one wants to play in the playoffs now. Caitlin needed to get the bounce in her legs back.

      Absolutely! You hear them say, what is her skill set? She's 25 playing against 20 year olds. She's played a covid year. All she does is shoot 3's! She doesn't have the skill set to play in the WNBA! She's a ball hog! She shoots 40 times a game! Obviously those people don't watch her play or they wouldn't be so damn ignorant. I've been hearing that since she's been in college you can't beat Indiana you can't beat Ohio State can't beat Michigan you can't beat Nebraska you can't beat Maryland. They can't win the Big Ten Tournament! You're not fast enough! you're not big enough! you're not strong enough! Just keep telling her that she can't do something. She'll prove to you that she can!

    What Ticha thinks:
    “One of the best qualities any point guard can have is the ability to make his/her teammates better. And Caitlin absolutely does that… She is able to elevate all of her teammates' strengths. Also her unshakable confidence rubs off on the whole team -- it's pretty obvious! She is a true floor general that controls the tempo and pace of the game. Knows when to take over and when to get her teammates more involved. Being able to score from 3, from midrange and in the paint is also a lost art… She can score on all three levels, which makes guarding her a very hard task. I also love a guard that can rebound. It helps with the transition game because the ball is already in her hands and she's the best decision-maker on the court." ~Ticha Penicheiro, WNBA 2nd All-Time Assists Leader (ESPN Interview)

    She's the best female basketball player to ever play the game. She's super skilled and super smart, and, what most people don't realize is that she's super fast as well. Beyond that, she's engaging, friendly, and likeable off the court. People like her. It's as simple as that. A lot of athletes can't relate to that, so they get jealous and mean toward her. We're fortunate to have her in our generation of sports.

The other three are Basketball Hall of Fame players (Oscar Robertson, Magic Johnson, and Isaiah Thomas). Of note, WNBA games are 8 minutes shorter than NBA games. On August 25, 2024, the StatMamba posted on X that Caitlin Clark leads all WNBA rookies with the most 20-point games (13) this season. The next closest rookie is Angel Reese (3). StatMamba also posted that Caitlin Clark has the most 20/5/5 games (11) in a single season this year compared to Breanna Stewart (12) in 2023. Of note, Breanna Stewart was MVP in 2023.

    She's tall and flies the ball up the court. When she often rebounds she's an automatic one player fast break. She's now playing with pros who know if they get open she will find them in stride or in shooting rhythm. She can shoot or finish at the basket, pick your poison. I recall Bob Knight as commentaror calling Steph Curry the best passer in college basketball. Sound familiar?

    Fascinating that Caitlan made her mark - when we watched her in college - with her long-distance shooting. That is what we thought her game was - that is what made her stand out. But In the WNBA she has not shot 3 pointers very well - it seems, I did not look it up. Partly because she is double teamed quite a bit. However, she has been unbelievable in passing and moving the ball up count and scoring on drives to the basket or pulling up for 2 point shots. Its her quickness and even her toughness in spite of her slight build. It is her whole game that stands out! As she gains experience and cuts down on turnovers some, she will get another big step up in effectiveness. Quite amazing.

  • @OakHillSoulman
    @OakHillSoulman 2 месяца назад +16

    I’ve always thought this whole double-double thing is overrated, especially with rebounds, with nothing against Angel Reese. Rebounds are very important, but they don’t (necessarily) create points, which assists do. So which is better, 15 points and 11 rebounds or 22 points and 9 assists. One is a double-double, the other gets your team at least 40 points but is not a d-d. No contest here for ROY.

    • @gregoryharlston0602
      @gregoryharlston0602 2 месяца назад

      Defensive rebounds prevent the other team from scoring. Offensive rebounds give you another shot at scoring! So they are as important as assisting on made shots! Rebounding, just like defense, requires heart! It's dirty work and very few players can do it consistently! Angel has HEART! It bothers me that so many CC fans try to build CC up by trying to diminish what Angel does. I've played basketball for over 40 years. Every time I step on the court with players that I've never played with the first thing that I look for is, "Do my teammates play defense, do they rebound, and do they share the ball?" I rarely think about scoring first! And usually, when I play with guys who play tough defense and rebound, the chances of winning go up by a lot! I guess my point is CC is a great player and definite ROY, so there's no need to try to diminish Angel's double-double to make CC look better! It's like many of you feel threaten by mere thought that someone else might be worthy!

      @@gregoryharlston0602 they aren’t at all. Angel had 20 rebounds yesterday and her team had 68 points. Clark had 9 assists yesterday and her team had 92 points. The essence of that beauty is not a single player it is the entire team flowing as one. My favorite player of all time is Wilt. I was Philly born and will always be a Philly fan. I want the Sixers to win it all. Embiid is an athletic gifted freak of nature. Perhaps the best athlete in the NBA. However Jokic makes everyone on his team better. Stewart and Wilson are the 2 best in the WNBA. Wilson is perhaps better. But Clark is the maestro of the Symphony of the current Indiana Fever Team.

They have played to teams with winning records, including one team Sunday that had beat them three times already this season. It’s not that the Fever have a “cake walk” of a schedule. Dan, the only detail that is wrong here is that Caitlin since day one, was not playing at this level, but still, breaking records left and right, since the first week. You cannot be playing bad, and be the rookie and in some cases player, to get to 50 points, 100, 150, 200, 250, 300, 400, fastest than anyone before, and that with combined number off assists that could have been better if her team could have caught her passes, score open shots and easy layups facilitated by Clark, they are not over the 15 wins because of that reason, they lost around 3-4 games by one or two points, they should have won....look up all her records since week one and you will see she was playing well, with the growing pain of being a rookie, and in her case, the rookie, the one girl that brought attention to the game more than anybody, the one guarded the hardest. The one with the sponsorship s, the chosen one. Hate, envy, jealousy, insecurity were the sentiments for most players in the game..and that made harder too..And as you mentioned, the schedule, and the worse team..

She is a great ball handler, sets her teammates up with record assists, that makes the entire team better. They know if they are open CC will get them the ball, so she is a playmaker as well. Since coming into the league her ball handling skills keep getting better and better. AR on the other hand is more 1 dimension able. If you are looking at what player has really changed their team and made them into winners that also goes to CC.
