The "Golden Age"....brings a tear to my eye of bygone days.....😢
Nobody in Illinois is having more fun than that guy right now!
Great tractor. The drill set up is top notch. That was great too. Thanks Jason!
What a set up Jason.... One of my favorite old power houses
Definitely one of the all-time greats.
Sure did enjoy that sir !!!
I was born and raised on a northern Il farm and spent literally 1000's of hours in the seat of a 1206 as a kid while dad drove a yellow 4156.
Thank you sir for bringing back the memories.
Thats one hell of a trip watching those wheels turn. Between the different tread and the camera speed its one crazy illusion watching the inner tires going forward and the duals appearing to go backwards.😁
It's all I could focus on....what a maddening thing to watch.
@@elephantcompany6061 He's driving so fast that the drill bounces out of the ground. Good way to wreck your machinery.
@@switzerblitzer2701I suspect the video speed has been adjusted...but yet it sounds unaltered so...idk Defenately seams unrealistic to seed so fast. If not, like you say smashy smashy on the rocks. And at a certain speed the extra fuel burn to go fast becomes more expensive than the extra time.
Reminds me when my neighbor runs the swather in high gear, making piles all over just to plug up the combine over and over.
If I concentrate hard enough, I can make my eyes see the tires go forward. It's like those 3D images people stare at
@@switzerblitzer2701 I was going to say the same, certainly not mucking around and yes what ever implement you're using, if it's bouncing to much speed, come back a gear or 2 and let the machine do it's work. Ahh yes, another armchair comment but my observation. Plenty of similar sized Inter's around the bigger cropping regions of Victoria, Wimmera especially. 766, 866 very popular. Andy from Adelaide. cheers
As a Deere guy the 1206 is one I would love to own. True muscle tractor from IH. Great vid! 0:06
This is definitely one of those tractors that catches fans of different brands attention. I think the JD 4020, IH 1206, AC D21, FORD 8000, MF 1150, MM G-1000 Vista and Oliver 2150 are all tractors that just make people say that’s a cool tractor.
@@bigtractorpower And we watched them perform big at all our tractor pulls back in the 60’s and 70’s
I remember these narrow bonnet Farmalls well some of the best tractors ever made ,reliable and TOUGH and powerful, I drove an 856 and 706 .
I use to have an International Super A and a Super C. I used both tractors for cultivating and hauling tobacco near the community of Mount Brydges Ontario. In the States one may not know it but tobacco IS actually grown in Canada near the communities of Delhi, Brantford, and Mount Brydges. Not as much tobacco is grown in these areas nowadays like back in the Sixties Seventies and Eighties. I'd imagine that you may not be enthused by such small tractors as your videos specialize mostly on large ones. It sure looks like central Illinois has been very blessed with really good weather seeing a farmer sowing oats already. I just love it when the 1206 blasts out beautiful petroleum diesel smoke. P.S.---Delhi, Brantford, Mount Brydges Ontario.
Just a testament to how well tractors were built in this era, the 1206 is still working.
Great équipement planting oats and great sound
First crop of the year able to be seeded in cool weather.
@@bigtractorpoweri love this tractor 112 real horsepower
The 1206 is my most favorite tractor of all time. I would love to have a chance to run one
Great looking and sounding tractor. I cut my teeth on a 1206 and my dad still has it. I would love to restore it to this quality.
Awesome video! I grew up riding in and driving a 1486 with my dad. Western interior, too!
112 hp was a hoss back in the 60s, not to mention thats one good looking tractor.
112 was at the pto.
95 at the drawbar.
If only people realized that.
@@IG10705uh that's how they were all rated and everyone knows that. It's still a more honest rating than modern versions which are rated at the flywheel.
@jsd795
Yet you don't understand what I'm saying. Let me spell it out for you.
Everyone goes by the pto and they forget the drawbar HP all of the time. Smh
@@IG10705 I do understand what you are saying and so does everyone else. It's just irrelevant.
Always good to see something like that still earning her keep.
It sure is. The 1206 is a cool tractor.
Neighbor growing up had that drill set up behind a Ford TW-20. I have an IH 1086 that pulls a fertilizer spreader, 6rn Deere 7000, 11 knife 1000 gallon sidedress bar, 15ft Marliss drill. 1456 pulls bushhog, MacDon mower, 20ft Kewanee disk when needed and 5 bottom plow.
My dad had a 806 that he bought new in 1966 and he used it for many years. I wish we still had it…
The 806 is a gray tractor and it’s one that I really would like to find to film for a full 10 minute feature
@@bigtractorpower We had two 806’s…. A lot of sentimental value there! Would love to have that and a 1206 in the quonset again!
Tractors have came along way, thanks for the video
Thank you for watching.
My all time favourite Tractor..
Very cool.
That’s the tractor I started on disking all day at 12 years old!
Thank you for featuring my favorite tractor.
One of the great tractors!
Best tractor ever made!
Most attractive tractor ever produced. Love the white grill, fenders and wheels.
That's a sweet sounding tractor 😊😊
Nice looking tractor and drills. Thanks for sharing Jason. I've said before in the comments I still run IH tractors. 1066, 5088, 140 for the garden and a SMTA my newest is a Case IH maxxum 125. Thanks for sharing the video.
Them 1206 was a great tractor Ilove to hear them run out in the field 👍
Now that’s a nice classic, I like it 👍👍
The 1960’s at its best.
@@bigtractorpower oh yeah 👍👍
A beautiful 1206, all we need now is a 560, 656, and a nice 706.
Neighbor of mine had a pair of those back in the 70s.
The drills were as accurate as any other drills
Very nice.
Learnt to run a tractor on a 806 in the 70's. Awesome video!
the ih 1206 was one of my favorite tractors, even today...we had a 806, wished dad had bought the 1206
He's not messing around. Probably got a good wind chill going as well.😂
Oats are a cool season crop. It was extra windy and cold for this one.
@@bigtractorpower It looks cold 🥶.
Brilliant video sir such a joy to see a tractor from the sixties still working and working well and what a sound track there has always been a special sound of a six pot IH engine for me the best was the 956 + the 1056 if you get chance have a look on you tube at UK and European IH tractors at work
Alot of time on the 806, driven a 1206 a few times, great tractor.
Opa meu amigo parabéns pelo seu trabalho parabéns pra você tudo de bom pra você que Deus te abençoe sempre você 👍
😁👍👍
we have a 766 saved from scrap trailer, it runs a bale processor, silage mixer wagon and post pounder in summer, but its favorite job is running our 914 red top
That's a very nice setup👍😉 one tractor and two drills getting it done😁💪 great video👍👍
We had a 1206 spent many hours pulling a 6 bottom 700 plow
Great video. Gotta love old school
The 1206 is the definition of old school cool.
Man, the 1206 is the epitome of what a classic tractor should look like IMO. Awesome. BTP- I noticed the tractor on the toy has the metal 1206 plate rather than the white decal of this one. Know the story on that? Was that just a minor change to accommodate the majority of the 1206 tractors?
Hope you come through central Indiana sometime got some old equipment that we farm with. Keep the videos coming
Almost 60 years old, what an awesome investment, still gitnrdone!
The amount of CO2 saved with a lovely unit like that is amazing, no need to ship and pack DEF fluid or tons of resources to build a new one.
Beautiful tractor and from the best of times
I was more than a little surprised to hear that the narrow front 1206 cost $1,200 more than the wide front. We were mostly John Deere but had an 806 in the sixties and added a 1066 hydro in the early 70's
I see George picking corn again. Lives about 4 miles west of me.
Nice brother
Beautiful setup love the 1206
That's some fast seeding!
IH built some great drills.
Excellent tractor video 👍👍👍
Go International
Those old tractors got it done.
Marking 59 years in the field this year.
I did lot of plowing with the 1206 my brother had that tractor had a sound all by itself wow
We used to pull 2 - 15 foot drills with a 1456 and we converted the hitch of a 2 - 6 row painters so we could use just the same hitch for both and we converted by switching the braces for the straight ones for the planter . The one planter or drill was pulled backwards when moving . That was before they had augers to fill the drills .
Better not let Whistlindiesel near that 1206
Nooooooo
Whistlin destruction is more like it
Hes just a moron
Won't watch anything of that kids videos, has no respect for classic stuff!
@@davereynolds6145 I completely agree
We run a 966. It does alot of square baling in the summer time. I usually pull it at our county fair.
My brother in law uses the 5100 drill with his ih 886 to seed alfalfa and peas.
Very cool. My neighbor seeded oats, alfalfa and peas with an 886 and a 5300. The 886 was traded on a 7220.
Ive always wanted a 1206 with a narrow front end.
We had a 706 gas. It put up with a long life of harsh abuse. She was retired from field duty and received a loader. She scooped up manure and speared hay. It would only run good if you ran the hell out of it.
Had a 666 gas , ran the same
Parabens eu sou seu fã amo seu canal e seus vídeos sucesso sempre 👏👏👍👍👌👌🚜🚜💪💪🇧🇷
Thank you. 👍👍
Nothing sounds like a1206 with a straight pipe!
IH engines have such a great sound.
Had mine since 1974 still have it and have never had work done on the engine
Very nice. Great tractor to have.
My buddy has a Farmall 1206 that is restored
jeeez humming along
At my friends farm I work at we run a 806 on our feed wagon
Awesome. The 806 is a great tractor.
I've got an 806 Wheatland and a 1086.
He ain't worried about no satellite feed 😊
At 3:04 in the video, where is this tractor located? Would love to see it some day.
Todo lo veo muy bien Amigo Sólo que por que tiene que ir tan rápido No veo motivo para tanto apuro
I will take this tractor over the 150- 200 thousand dollar tractors they build now!
59 years old and still a solid work horse.
Raised in Richland County IL now San Diego. Can you say Tractor Back? Thank you.
this is by far more impressive than the latest, biggest, and most expensive. they won't be around in sixty years🤣
The only problem was the axles were not big enough , many broke in use with duals. I know somewhere along the way the axles were update.
Jason, did you watch the "Tractor Wars" documentary that was made by Iowa PBS? Any thoughts?
All the bald eagles
112 hp so they said .they left the assemble line at 160
And you know this how? 125 would not surprise me though.
They were tested at 95 at the draw bar and 112 at the pto.
I call total BS on your comment.
With the turbocharged 806 engine, the 1206 could do near 120/125 if tuned up
Some 1206 had the 407 cubic inch. Later to become the 1256 It wouldn't surprise me if it were closer to 130/135 hp
But 160 seams a bit much. I don't think the rear end would last long and doubt anything with either engine would reach 160 from factory. The displacement simply does not support the possibility.
I'm talking pto power. Not draw bar.
The range transmission & rear end will hold 1,500hp & the pto clutches will hold 310hp
That’s a nice lookin tractor
