- Take a trip into the stacks of the Songbook Library & Archives this month with our very own Michael Feinstein. In continued celebration of our newest Songbook Hall of Fame inductee, Judy Garland, we have pulled some iconic recordings, arrangements, photos and artifacts from her film career that are carefully preserved and housed in our collections. Thanks to Michael, this month's episode explores why each of these pieces is particularly significant in celebrating Judy's legacy!

I became a NYC cabaret singer because of Judy and especially after meeting LiZa at Radio City after her Steppin' Out concert! I am a 59 yr old female who worked with the late Rick Jensen. Now I have R.A. and I don't perform anymore. 😢 Judy and LiZa are the epitome of showbiz!! Love them both!!

P.S. I grew up in Westchester County and used to visit Judy at Ferncliff Cemetery in Hartsdale, NY and bring her 💐 to show my appreciafor her talent. Now I can't, but I understand. She needs to be near her children now.❤

I used to call her Judy Garlic when I was little (what do you expect from a then, 4 yr old Italian kid?😉). Sadly, that's how old I was when Judy passed😢 I used to speak of her in my "patter"😊 when I performed.

Why does everyone call Sid Luft a "producer?" He produced one film, a B-picture for Monogram, sometimes called "French Leave" prior to glomming himself onto Judy. He was often AWOL from production of "ASIB," at the racetrack. He produced nothing afterward.
So true ... a vulgar grifter.
