Oof. I can't wait to see them in NYC. James was better than I thought he was going to be when I saw DT at Count Basie a couple years ago. I mean he's doing his best. When he goes into the lower register he sounds pretty good. I wish they would utilize that more in the new songs. Maybe a lower key for the old songs live.
Si, non ci sarebbe nulla di male se lo usasse. Ma dai video/dirette che ho visto di questa prima data del tour, ha performato molto meglio degli anni passati.
He's mostly entirely on pitch, if anything he seems to just be going very safe and kinda... stifled? Honestly though this is wayyy better than the last two times I'd seen them a decade ago!
Meh, I’ve heard him a LOT worse. Granted, this is the only song I’ve heard thus far from this tour. He’s been very shotty live at best these last few years, if he hits the notes fairly well I’m “happy”, my expectations are low - which is a sad situation for the band, I wish the standards were a lot higher.
@@Desto13 I love JLB, one of my biggest influences as a singer - check out my cover of Metropolis on my channel if you want - and I get that he’s singing in a safe zone to spare his voice. It’s the smart thing to do, it’s the ONLY thing he can do to have any hopes of lasting a tour. But, the sound he gets when singing this way isn’t very pleasant and he has been singing like this for a long time, at least since 2008, with more or less unsuccessful results. It’s a catch 22 situation really, if he gives 90-100% he would trash his voice too quickly, less than that and tone is heavily compromised. But I’m willing to cut him some slack now that the band is in their twilight years. I’m just glad that they’re still out the performing and this subject is the most beaten dead horse in the prog metal community, but I feel strongly about the subject since I’m a singer myself and sometimes can’t resist chipping in.
Thanx for sharing so fast!

He’s singing in a safe place in his voice. My dudes 60. He cant do what he use to. Bothers me so much that people go out of their way to dog him.
