I don't know how it felt to you but to me - when I stumble into this kind of research - it helps me to realize that the kids are not THAT different. Yes they ARE in a way, but not THAT different. Your video is such good quality! Also, I do feel that Gen Z catches on to technology a lot easier than I ever did, but the abundance of tech also prevents them from thinking critically.... they don’t know the pains of looking up a word in an actual dictionary or looking for research textbooks in the library. Everything is at their fingertips, but they don’t know how to implement things.
Yes! In fact - I feel pretty much the same about the teenagers: easier with technology, less critical thinking, less responsibility - sounds very familiar. That's actually why it was important to me to find out the truth about these impressions. I mean - really - isn't it amazing that most of these beliefs have no backup by science? I like catching myself on that kind of incorrect assumptions because it helps me to clarify my own thinking. I really appreciate your comment!

Thank you for sharing this video with us. I am a Gen Z young adult. I grew up with Nat Geo books and Webster dictionaries in my bedroom along with the rest of my siblings. I also grew up in schools where we had to refer to books because there were zero tolerance policies on electronics. I also know how to use a typewriter, rotary phone, and a fax machine. I grew up around a big family that kept certain things that were here before me. We were not affluent, but the resourcefulness rubbed off on me and many other Gen Z's that feel similar. These myths always felt a bit too directed towards teenagers and children in general.
