Let me know if I'm paranoid...
I don't care if they track my searches, voice or not... But I'm having conversations with people at my job as casual small talk... And then later in the day or next day, I start getting youtube video and Google suggestions that are oddly related to a conversation I had earlier.
I was talking about the movie airplane and naked gun with someone... And then what is now 10 hours later from that conversion, I have a RUclips suggested video that's related to Airplane. This is just one example, but something like this has also happened a few more times in the past year. Am I crazy?
Like I said... If I press the microphone button, I don't care if whatever I say then/search for is logged, stored, and used... It's the stuff in the background of my life that I'm not sharing with my phone that I'm annoyed about
They definatly listening. Few months back my wife suggested a holiday to Thailand to a location i hadn't heard of before, couple hours later an advert for a hotel caught my eye for the same exact location whilst I was scrolling through instagram. No way was that a coincidence imho.
This is super creepy. I have had the same thing, like stuff I never even told my phone through any way. I was eating Oreos and then later on RUclips I get recommended a video with Oreos in the thumbnail? Like what else are they listening to? I take my phone with me to the loo and to bed after all... 🥴😬
yeah I mean there is no question about it, google does listen. I say speaker I get an advert for a speaker, my brother does martial arts when he talks about it I get ads for belts.
not only you. I might be paranoid but I've had Google show me advertisements on things I've been thinking about. our family got a Google home for Christmas from my sister and my dad wants it burned.
The first time I noticed it, was about 4 years ago, a Native American dude was playing a song I've never heard at lunch, I briefly asked him about the song. That song popped up on my YT suggestions that night. I asked him the next day if it was the same song he was listening too. It's an obscure Native American rock band. Blackfoot, "Highway Song". Great song, creepy asz phones dear god.
i literally have conversations at my school w my phone in my pocket and ill have ads related to it hours later. its unsettling.
The only way to truly help this issue is to physically disable your microphone. Assuming the phone doesn’t have a hidden one

“DO YOU LOVE Gantt charts?”

Thank you! Can I stop my Google Nest Hub from repeating what I ask? In other words, when I say: "hey Google, turn off the bedroom light," I just really it to do the command and not say: "turning off the bedroom light." It actually happens on my Google Nest Hub Max but my smaller hub repeats everything I ask back. Thanks for your help!
Doesn't mean Google's not recording you. It's just not available to you anymore. A good tactic to pretend like their respecting your privacy.

It's worse than you think. My laptop was shut off (or at least it was suppose to be completely shut off), me and my friend start talking about how he has a job site in El Paso, TX while on xbox. Once again, just to remind you, my laptop was shut off. I have never once mentioned El Paso in my life until then. I get on realtor on my laptop and the first things that pop up are homes in El Paso, TX. MY LAPTOP WAS OFF AND IT STILL LISTENED TO THE ENTIRE CONVERSATION

I was just on a zoom call and someone mentioned grammarly. an hour later and theres a grammarly ad in youtube. Never before.

yup they love listening in on your conversations. They need full control over the people so that way they can never be at a disadvantage. Worst part is a lot of people never signed up for this and it is perfectly legal

How do you stop youtube from stalking my searches, I search hot tubs, hot tub ads, I search tents, I get camping ads, I look up a fucking external hard drive for extra storage on my Xbox and what do you know, a hard drive ads
I still don't trust them. I did this but they are still listening, so I am about to buy a voice blocker piece from amazon. That way my phone is deaf unless I take the piece off...🙂

@@Tredies_Yes, but they are sneaky about it. You disable your mic but then cant make calls with it off so you are forced to turn it on. They do this in hopes you forget to switch it back off.
