Well said Mr Peters. Tikanga is all about a belief system and customs of a particular group that are not held by others.
... and another point is that tikanga has components of the supernatural, i.e. quasi-religious. Notwithstanding the Parliamentary prayer, we are supposed to be a secular state and there is no place for enforced participation in supernatural ritual.

Hi all. This is a question for Winston Peters; why the government agencies all still have the changed Maori names and not back to their original English names, despite the election promises? Thank you

I have noticed in our local hospital almost all English within the hospital ... ward names, departments etc. all English ..now... so it is happening.. what concerns me is the cost of all this Maori nonsense costs... TeReo has cost the country zillions of dollars. If all those zillions had of been spent in health, housing, education, road and infrastructure maintenance how strong and great our country would be.... and ALL NZ citizens would benefit not just a very tiny minority. If Pharmac had the use of some of those zillion then hundreds of cancer sufferers and other critically ill people (many of them Maori) would be able to access medications other countries already have. All this extremism has to stop and Maori have to help stop it.

There is also ethnic crimes ... targeting people, businesses and costing us all on criminal lawyer payments, law and order payments, insurance premiums, stress leaves, injuries ... etc. Is it fair that 16% of the society is costing the rest so much invert way? Hell no! Then there is all the race based entitlements, water and land entitlements ... it is like we are dealing with ethnic mafia.
It was addressed it’s a long process and not the highest priority at the moment as in sorting out the economy

The law of our land is Judeo Christian based, and our parliamentary system is based on this and the 'crown', nota tribal system of governance.

I ended up leaving Bachelor of Nursing because 50% of the curriculum was about colonisation, assimilation, culture, practice and beliefs of Maori people. I respect that every person, group and family have their own culture. I enjoyed working with people who had severe illness, and their families. Sadly when I realised how much time, exams and focus on compulsory curriculum that had little to do with actual nursing, I left.

The English dictionary adds 800 to a 1000 words a year average so what is your point here with the Maori language??? Maori is a language like English, you don't have to agree with how the Government uses the language but you must accept that it is a language and like English was forever evolving.
