>underrated no, TotBL is widely considered to be one of the best albums of the 2000's. they just don't have the radio airtime that the killers do. the killers may have a greater number of listeners, but that's because they're with a huge label that sold the shit out of the idea of a radio-friendly indie band. they have genuine fans, but the killers are way too sterile and melodramatic to be compared to interpol
So you're saying they were at one time "rated". That doesn't mean they still weren't underrated according to how someone else feels about them (and believes they should be rated MORE). Really...just shut up.
This made mark out. Hard. I always thought that The Killers and Interpol had a similar sound in some cases as you can definitely hear the post-punk revival influence on Hot Fuss. Both bands are easily in my top 20 favorite bands of all time, so I thought it was cool just to see Brandon mention Interpol as one of his major influences, but seeing the band cover this song is a dream come true. Amazing...
that's a pretty good take on the song. so cool a band from the same period paying tribute. Edit: what happened to the original bassist from Hot Fuss & Sam's Town?
Thanks for the informative response. that bass work in Hot Fuss was stellar. w/ "Jenny Was a Friend of Mine" paving the way of the LP. Glad to hear that they are all still intact after 12+ years together.
Suena muy bien con la voz de brandon Y es dificil olvidar la particular voz de paul Me encantaria escuchar interpol tocando when you were young y paul cantandola en lugar de brandon
Interpol are awesome! Killers do covers second to none! The following is the best pre grand final appearance (in Australia) of any sport in memory and I'm an old f. ruclips.net/video/zyrodl1rMc0/видео.html The Killers have so much respect for where they're playing - great band!!
I know, right?! If i saw fucking The Killers covering fucking Interpol, especially Obstacle 1, I'd go apeshit! I mean, that's basically my entire adolescence right there!
... really? Well, my friends didn't know either and they're still not interested in them (also they don't find any of them handsome and Paul is my biggest crush) but I thought there'll be more Interpol fans in such crowd of music lovers.
+Harry Portfel i Karta Kredytowa there was an m83 concert happening at the same time and this recording only shows like the upper third/fourth of a huge crowd
Why does the bass sound so bad??.. Mmm lets see, ok Carlos used to use Fender jazz bass without any pedals, he has a reason, and i know why, but this is not the main thing.. This guy use a sansamp di bass, you can heard it.. And also his bass, sounds like a Ernie ball bass.. Weird cause he's using a Fender bass, it sounds like a Korn bass.. Haha funny thing
I think it sounds okay... but you can't really compare anyone else's playing or tone to Carlos, because Carlos is always always always going to come out ahead.
Nunca intentan ser interpol como nadie mas intenta ser the killers Y me gusta mucho mas interpol que the killers Pero quisieron hacer un cover nada mas alla de eso De ahi a que compares a the killers con un grupo de boda es igual De absurdo que comparar Interpol Con the killers
they announced Mark was taking a break from touring to "pursue his solo album and educational endeavors". He's still working with them on the new album, just taking a break from touring.
I guess i respect that they covered a song from one of the most amazing albums of all time, but man the killers are so bad though. They took post punk and made it cheesy. The only similarity this band has to Interpol's sound is the chord progressions. Brandon's voice is really good and the band did a decent job covering the song, but they shouldn't act like they're a "post-punk revival" band. i mean, they freaking butchered shadowplay. The killers aren't really like interpol, they were just one of the many early 00's indie bands that made it to the radio.
take it easy there, Interpol is a better band but the killers are definitely not a bad band. they've produced so many hits and their first two albums were pretty phenomenal.
they're one of those bands that i've given frequent tries, and got nowhere. I always thought their songs relied too heavily around trite synth hooks with middle of the road everything else (save the bass-playing on the first 2 albums. good stuff, but nothing on carlos d). I can't stand bad keyboard-ballads. It's a style I never really liked (but can be done well i.e. disintegration - the cure). Also, I can't help but compare them to other bands of that era - like Interpol, the walkmen, the strokes, arcade fire - and then i realize that i like the latter bands of that style so much better. as for making hits, i mean, i don't like to judge music by it's popularity. idk if that was what you were implying or not, but over time the "hits" get old. like, obstacle 1 was my favorite interpol song for only so long. listen to a good album enough times, you still enjoy you're old favorites but you find better songs, and the whole album experience becomes blissful. the singles are there to kinda draw you into an album. anyways, that's all I'm really promoting here: the full album exp vs. the singles. seems like killers are more of a singles based band. and it also comes down to the fact that i just flat out don't like the killers, and feel a little uneasy about them covering one of my fav bands. I'm probably sounding really pretentious, but i tend to try to stay off RUclips for this reason. my semi-hipster side gets the better of me. I'm actually pretty open-minded and patient when it comes to music.
I love that they covered obstacle 1. Interpol is such an underrated band.
i second that emotion
110%
>underrated

Bass is too weak
It's CARLOS D he's got to cover. The greatest bassist of the 2000s. Can't blame him.
@@shashsrivas it has nothing to do with his skill. The bass volume was too low on the mix
I can't believe this happened, INTERPOL
This made mark out. Hard. I always thought that The Killers and Interpol had a similar sound in some cases as you can definitely hear the post-punk revival influence on Hot Fuss. let's pray interpol returns the gesture!
+David Eldridge That's what I've been hoping. They should cover Smile Like You Mean It
no
+7Seconds of Winter 🙁
+Caleb Willis agreed
¡Qué hermosa mezcla! (♥ω♥ ) ~♪
that's a pretty good take on the song.
so cool a band from the same period paying tribute.
Edit: what happened to the original bassist from Hot Fuss & Sam's Town?
Mark Stoermer is still in the band, he's just taking a break from the touring to make his new record.
Thanks for the informative response. that bass work in Hot Fuss was stellar. w/ "Jenny Was a Friend of Mine" paving the way of the LP.
Glad to hear that they are all still intact after 12+ years together.
theyre playin it the exact same way interpol does
Samuel Ramos nah sorry, this Interpol song was double the bass volume, go listen to their version , the bass line makes this song
Suena muy bien con la voz de brandon Y es dificil olvidar la particular voz de paul Me encantaria escuchar interpol tocando when you were young y paul cantandola en lugar de brandon
Interesante propuesta. Aunque también, When you ere young, pero con mariachi. Trillado, pero alguien debe hacerlo ya.
"She puts the room into my little hear" ? XD

The Killers have so much respect for where they're playing - great band!!
Why is the audience so calm? I would do the most random dance if I heard this song live.
I know, right?! If i saw fucking The Killers covering fucking Interpol, especially Obstacle 1, I'd go apeshit! I mean, that's basically my entire adolescence right there!
dude I was going crazy I was just further back
I was there up front on the left and was going nuts but nobody else knew who Interpol were...
... really? Well, my friends didn't know either and they're still not interested in them (also they don't find any of them handsome and Paul is my biggest crush) but I thought there'll be more Interpol fans in such crowd of music lovers.

i was there! then it started raining like no other. haha.
Damn... They did an amazing job. :)
Brandon ain't no Paul Banks.
No, really ? Ah okay, this explains why they got different names and different faces. Thank you Sherlock Holmes.
He's better.
@4:37 what the fuck is this.... (ouch my ears)
Legal porque eu curto as duas bandas ,bom saber que existe união amigável entre elas.
Amazingly done well
¡Qué hermosa mezcla! (♥ω♥ ) ~♪
great cover
dice longwave ??
Every bit as good as the Interpol original. Brandon has the vocals to push it to the next level.
amazing....
Lo bueno empieza en el 1:21
You're the real MVP

Yeah, it sounds super snappy.
I think it sounds okay... but you can't really compare anyone else's playing or tone to Carlos, because Carlos is always always always going to come out ahead.
Damn faithful cover. Great!! Fucking Interpol rules. The killers are damn good too.
It's too perfect I can't
Also I would love it if Interpol covered Tranquilize @3@
Sencillo y simple... la historia le dará relevancia a este tipo de eventos sublimes.
Exciting!!!
In ter pol! In ter pol! In ter pol! =D
Más bien se Rifoooo!!
Buen tema de Interpol,buen cover.
bass and eletric guitar could this better
Its interpol song but the guitar tone still very well the killers.
Con the killers

genial.
wow, great cover
Se Rifo un poco la voz ! Genial .
Well at least they tried
Brandon didn't know the lyrics in some parts or it's just my opinion?

Beautiful ❤️
The besto crossover ever

Where's Mark ?
they announced Mark was taking a break from touring to "pursue his solo album and educational endeavors". He's still working with them on the new album, just taking a break from touring.

I'm a huge Interpol fan, and a moderate Killers fan. I'll argue that Hot Fuss and Sam's Town are equally as the greatest Interpol has ever made
i thought i owned both bands ,good to see it wasn't just me . Attention
