- Inner Manipur MP Angomcha Bimol Akoijam stated on Wednesday that the government of India is responsible for defending Manipur and must take stern action against communal and divisive forces wreaking havoc in the state. Raising the issue during Zero Hour in the Lok Sabha, the Congress MP highlighted that divisive elements, along with 'foreign powers' and 'illegal immigrants,' were disrupting peace efforts in the state, which has been in crisis for 15 months. Akoijam noted that peace efforts had been made and an agreement was achieved between two communities in the Jiribam district, mediated by security forces. Unfortunately, these efforts were subverted by communal, divisive, and sectarian forces.

This is high time to remind all the 545 MPs on the floor of the parliament that Manipur was merged with india with an agreement called Merger Agreement in I949 between two sovereign countries india (then india free from British paramount) and Manipur (free from British paramount) . This is to remind to protect territorial integrity of Manipur and Manipur as an integral part of india retaining the shape and size of Manipur of 1949. This is also demanding to respect the international law such as one

Oh please... Lets not talk about divisive elements or foreign elements. That is not true at all! There is no such involvement of foreign elements. Stop this nonsense about illegal immigration or divisive elements or narco terrorism. There was never such problems until May 3rd 2023 when the Manipuri Chief Minister started his chapter/campaign on the Ethnic cleansing of a particular tribe in Manipur (i.e. the minority Kukis) And after that, all sorts of vilification/labels came into existence.
Now, the only way forward (no matter how hard one particular community might disagree) is to grant autonomy/state to these three major tribes - Meiteis, Nagas and Kukis. There will never be peace again without a seperate UT for the mentioned three.
