Your hands don't just break and never heal? Legend has it boxing gloves were only introduced to protect the hands, not the face. You could even try to headbutt the punches - might be a silly idea though LOL.
@@goatlps yeah unfortunately the damage to the hands isn't great, I wouldn't advise anyone goes into it young, its more of a end of career type of sport with the cuts and hand injuries you will get.

The quality in the BKFC is coming on leaps and bounds. Some very good fighters transitioning over. Seems like a bit of a twilight zone for good boxers with nowhere to go anymore when they are past their peak. Some absolute gentlemen in the sport too. Likes of Mick Terrill, Jared Warren etc on the world stage and some good quality British fighters too. Be great to see you give it a go at some stage, you probably have too many decent pay days left in boxing to be fair to move over just yet!
Im fighting for BKFC now at cruiserweight and iv competed in professional muythai and k1 kickboxing and taking the gloves off and fighting was a bit strange figuring the distance out but i must say i really enjoyed it and you hit nail on the head 5×2 min is class 😂 Also mate the pay is decent 💯
I had this conversation with Matt legge a few years ago when him and jack draper were goin to fight even tho they are both good lads and no problems between the two. I'd rather be punched in with a gloved fist. But apparently bare knuckle is safer. Prob cos your brain takes a lot of punishment in boxing, but you can be sparked out easier in bare knuckle so it doesn't last as long. Interesting.
@@Richard-ws1hmI've done a bit of bk and I much preferred boxing. Bk is so rough on the hands. You can't really punch at full power or you will break your hands. You're right in that it's much safer in regards to life threatening injury.

I listened to a podcast today with Nigel Benn today. Pro boxers fought all the time back then. But like all sports they are getting more pro these days

A year wrestling training with some MMA sparring and submission/kicking defence and the White Rhino would be ready for a top ten guy in UFC. Could have a Doncaster Tai Tuivasa on our hands here, get Aspinall on the phone for some training.
Talking of other combat sports I’d love to see you interview Dillian White, he comes from a kickboxing background I believe & he’s as forthright and honest as you so would make a brilliant watch if you could get him on.
I coach boxers and bare knuckle fighters… I’m more successful with bare knuckle got 2 pros 1 of them is a world champion out of our gym! We hard spar in normal boxing gloves or tech spar in MMA training gloves, bag work and pad work in MMA gloves and just prepare for slightly different situations and technique on pads etc the fitness and conditioning and that is all the same!

These organisations basically pay what they get on the gate, so you're on a ticket deal. You might make a grand or so. If you want to prove how tough you are, go do a triathlon or something.

I can't stand bare knuckle boxing or Pub Car Park Fights as I call it, I want to watch talent as in boxing not somone having his face smashed to pieces with blood all over it within one round.
When im training for my bareknuckle fights, i do all my bag and pad work bareknuckle and sparring with normal gloves on or 7oz mma gloves 👌💪

Theres a lot of fighting in a clinch in most bare knuckle organisations so an mma or grappling background is really helpful.
