In the intro of the song he says Rehtaf fo seil Rehtaf fo eht ssyba Ew emoc morf woleb Nepo ruoy seye gnik Reficul Redrum meht lla which translates to Father of lies Father of the abyss We come from below Open your eyes king lucifer Murder them all and in the middle of the song where Phil is doing highs with the groove he says Natas, eht rehtaf Ehtab su ni ruflus Natas, eht rehtaf Ehtab su ni ruflus which translates to Satan, the Father Bathe us in sulfur Satan, the Father Bathe us in sulfur Really cool stuff he's doing here
I think this is my most anticipated album of the year. I listened to the two songs over and over during my gym sesh yesterday. Was insanely good for a first listen
exactly how i felt at first, but i’ve fallen more and more in love with the song after each subsequent listen! give it a few relistens and you’ll notice details that you hadn’t before
The fact that they go this heavy again makes The Valley and Kin even better records, and this is a very importat idea, they don’t overdo those records. I like both new singles and I am so ready for this record.
I couldn't have asked for anything more plain and simple. All I want is hammer to my face and Phil to show everyone he is king of Dethcore. (The Valley was an awesome album but Kin was just boring too me).
I agree with Vileself this song was brutal and heavy but there is something missing cause A Visceral Wretch off first listen it was instant playlist for me just the overall structure of that song I gravitate more towards the groove based sections in that song I can bob my head too. This one there's alot of blast beat stuff which is fine but it's not really something I'm the biggest fan of cause it takes me out of the groove I don't mind small sections of blast beats but when it's too long it starts to lose me. But there's no doubt this is heavy as hell and Phil sounds like a demon lol
I'd describe this track as "brutally heavy, but not catchy". LIke you guys referenced. Glad to see them get back to their roots, but this didn't have much in terms of a "hook" that I'd want to go back and listen to.
i agree with vile, the slower or less heavy parts of this song just didn't do it for me. If they weren't there it would have been just as good or better. It needed something more interesting in the slower/softer parts
In the intro of the song he says
Rehtaf fo seil
Rehtaf fo eht ssyba
Ew emoc morf woleb
Nepo ruoy seye gnik Reficul
Redrum meht lla
which translates to
Father of lies
Father of the abyss
We come from below
Open your eyes king lucifer
Murder them all
and in the middle of the song where Phil is doing highs with the groove he says
Natas, eht rehtaf
Ehtab su ni ruflus
Natas, eht rehtaf
Ehtab su ni ruflus
which translates to
Satan, the Father
Bathe us in sulfur
Satan, the Father
Bathe us in sulfur
Really cool stuff he's doing here
😂beat me to it but thanks love this intro

Phil's highs alone have me excited for this album.

My face melted again
Fun fact: the "chorus" lyrics consists of the song names from "This Is Exile", which was their most recognized album back in the days.
They moved to a new room in the cave!! The boys are back!
promises to be Whitechapel's most brutal album
Phil's vocal talent is surreal
These two new tracks are on a whole other level of Wow. I am unbelievably excited for this album.
Love the “return to form” after the last two (very good records!). Killer track.
Haters: "Oh whitechapel sold out in the valley and kin, meh meh meh"
Whitechapel: Hold my Tennessee Whiskey.
Fucking slaps. Hyped for the album!

Love the song but I do think when hearing so much hype around a song or anything really I feel like your mind plays it down without you even knowing
This is Great track but I prefer the new to obey the tyrant song they are my favourite deathcore band

so stale and emotionless
