I would love to see a separate video of how your work flow is like and if its practical and how you get the most use out of the ipad. Love your work, keep it up!
Thank you im glad you enjoyed, ill definitely be uploading an aditional video about this, im figuring out more and more awesome stuff that this thing can do myself aswel so im collecting all the aweosme things together :)
i was hooked during this entire video because you were talking as if i was in the room, not like you are performing to a camera. really refreshing to see and a joy to watch, just subscribed!
I'm really glad its striking that balance! :) I try to keep it chill and let some time in to allow viewers the time to think and concept their ideas so thank you glad you enjoyed!!
Hey @UncleJessy, thank you so much! I love your videos. I was reminded of the K1 door smash, which gave me a good chuckle XD. Hope all is well and wishing you a great day!
Finally the views picking up. Looks like the build videos are more atractive to the algoritm seeing that the nd filter glasses video also got quite some views. Keep up the good work man
Hey thank you for keeping such a close eye on the channal haha :) yea its kicking up a notch which is great, ill look into creating that community discord you mentioned in the other comment :)
You may be able to get a little extra room by creating an NVME M.2 Hot-swap by massacring an type c m.2 enclosure. Those things are around the size of two gum-sticks. Might make your storage options cheaper to get as well. This will help with battery space. Its ironic though, when the iPad first came out I wished it was like the device you managed to make which actually gives you options. Feels like full circle.
This was a very interesting project that's filmed, edited and delivered in a superb way. Instantly subscribed and looking forward to other projects from you.
Incredible build. One think I would add if I were to make it myself would be a vent for the heat sink. I worry that there isn't adequate airflow to justify the heat sink being there but you can only tell by using it for extended periods of time.
That's a really great idea indeed! i concepted leaving the back open and let the heatsink just be visible but for some reason that didn't make it into the final design, ill keep an eye out and update in the following video if it thermal throttles :)
I've been thinking of doing something like this for my MacBook (although more integrated like the kinds of things Exploring the Simulation makes), it was cool to see your design process
Strange coincidence. Was thinking these days to make something like a bottom plate with ssd tray for my macbook air and how i could make it with a 3d Printer :P and now i get this video suggested in my feed.
well here I shall respond with another strange coincidence, I was thinking these days to make something like a bottom plate with SSD tray and active cooling for the bottom of my MacBook pro. hahaha I actually wrote out some cool functions and stuff I wanted it to have XD, I'm not going to do it for a little while though as I first would like to save up for a new MacBook so your idea is safe XD but awesome stuff if you complete your project id love to see it some day!
Im so going to make this for my ipad pro.. i have been looking for something like this and could never find any thing.. i dont edit. But in a network eng and i do as well a lot of cctv and access control this is super cool man thx
Subscribed!! Amazing work my friend and this is a brilliant concept!!! I would see about making this an actual PRODUCT - something for pro-level creatives. Combine that with the desk and holy shit... I cannot wait to see it man. You're brilliant.
Hey, I just discovered you channel and it's crazy how good your videos are and I imagine your subscriber count is a little underwhelming. I just hope you will continue making content and eventually you will have the amount of subscribers you deserve.
Hey Stefan thank you for the support really appreciate it! I'm actually already really blown away by how things a growing right now and I truly appreciate the community! but I do of course have very big ambitions for the channel, I will do everything in my power to keep uploading at this pace and quality with some truly awesome projects already in the pipeline :)
that's an awesome suggestion! im glad you liked it, i was indeed concepting this and am still figuring out how to rig that as theres usually only one power delivery port on these usb hubs. but i think something like an npf battery plate might work thats something for a next version :)
Glad you enjoyed! and thank you for watching the video that far ! yea if it ever turns out that this works 100% of the time, after a lot of testing i might design one that does use a ribbon cable but im glad you agree :)
I'm glad the videos are received in that way! i really enjoy youtube in that way, you can go on netflix and watch people shoot at eachother all day or go on youtube and see people building stuff, talking about life, traveling, gaming, doing all sorts of fun things haha
This is awesome! Im making a few Pi and Latte Panda MU builds similar to this. One is a RetroArch tablet with an NES case on the back. It has little NES carts for the sd cards like your ssds. That bolt is a great idea for retaining and still servicing it. I have meant to get some ffc or flat usb cables to reduce the bulk but got lost in other things. ADAT has some nice ones I might go with. This is a really incredible undertaking, and it looks so slick and professional.
Your project sound really awesome id love to see it when your finished with it! i did not know of these devices untill you just mentioned it thank you for sharing im always really inspired by comments like this ! im glad you liked the video!
Thank you @DannZylman really happy you enjoyed it! your design project on Axial flux motors is really inspirational btw! ive never considered using chatgpt in that way! :)
( Its called Shapr3d ) That's a great suggestion! ill put it on the video list ( sometimes i do one day build videos where I go into more details on what I'm doing on screen ) I dont consider myself a good CAD user tho so it would probably contain a lot of strange methods for doing things haha.
That’s it yt is spying on my inner thoughts, I was just thinking about something similar mainly 3d printing my own iPad case less than an hour later I get this recommendation from yt
Glad you enjoyed it! its indeed probably the best thing I never really knew I needed, the past few days I've been blasting through my productivity tasks and I keep getting more an more enthusiastic about this thing!
the whole project was incredible, really amazing, but the last thing that i will add is a kickstand nintendo switch like, and a protection for the apple pencil
I love UAG for my iOS devices, but wow! If I could somehow use something like this for my iPad Mini 6, I’d be all over that! Need to see your follow up video for how you use this.
When's the Kickstarter? This is incredible work man, I could obly wish to be able toale somthing like this. I currently use an ipad mini for photography and something like this would be so beneficial for me
LMAO! That damn Baseus hub. I had the exact same issues with instability with my M1 iPad Pro. Couldn’t even connect more than two USB-C SSDs before power delivery got all wonky as well as the whole hub disconnecting. Ironically I found a cheaper $19 usb-c hub that handles all my SSD connected just fine.
Ill keep that in mind for future projects thank you for the feedback! ( its a really heavy mist filter and i messed up the lighting to where its too extreme )
amazing video! It's crazy how much an Ipad can do! I've never really tried using Davinci on iPad but this really makes me want to try it. Also respect on the build!
I'm glad you enjoyed it :) still have a long way to go but the process makes me very happy. can I ask you something @Arne.Bornheim I checked out your content and it looks amazing! im wondering about your space. how did you get such an awesome industrial looking place with the concrete looking walls :0 id love to some day have something like that haha
@@FlatLanderTech Thanks so much 😊 It's just an office I'm renting. I got fairly lucky with it being a nice building, and then a lot of decorating went into it! But I think your space looks amazing too!
10:10 I'm assuming this is nylon printing right ? and judging by the smooth finish this is SLS printing, aka with laser melted powder, the support material is just the tightly packed unmelted powder that can be removed with a bit of pressurized air action as long as the cavity is opened at both ends.
Apologies for not sharing what i printed it in, i printed it with PCBWay's Resin service in UTR imagine black. I'm unsure what kind of process they use for this and i can tell your far more advanced than I am in this so ill leave that up to your knowledge haha.
@@FlatLanderTech Resin printing does require supports, but everything is printed upside down (the plateau moves while the "print head" equivalent stays static), this has the consequence of making much less shapes actually require support. Imagine 3D printing a simple bridge, starting from the pillars requires a lot support (cranes) to build the road structure across the space between pillars. But if the bridge is built upside down, the pillars can simply be bolted layer by layer onto the road structure, no need for a fancy coordinated crane system.
Your projects and videos are of very high quality. Also what material did you use for the final product from pcbway? And also I feel like the haze effect maybe a little too much, thats just how i feel.
You can maybe add a hand strap that you can put your hand in while using, so its more comfortable and less straining. Nice to see something apple related where people arnt afraid to make their own shit
Great suggestion!!! it was indeed on my list of things to do! the issue i was facing was battery life, its already draining at an expedited rate so for the next iteration ill try to add a second battery and implement an active cooling solution indeed!
Haha im glad you enjoy the content, sadly im not building these to buy at the moment as its quite a time-consuming process, but as its working so well at the moment i do believe ill build like an ultimate version with the newest 13 inch model later down the line so you could then print out the casing yourself :) anyway thank you for your kind remark! :)

i still want to learn how to use davinci but relearning a editing software is hard, and ive jumped from imovie to sony to adobe to final cut and now to lumafusion but davinci is still hard for me for some reason LOL
Thats quite a lot of jumps indeed! the learning curve was quite the jump for my innitially aswel but i just held chatgpt nexto me and asked it ( premiere had this - where is that in Davinci ), and within a couple days i learnt that ive been ruinined in my edit by premiere because its so messy you start to work in a messy way yourself. davinci is great for forcing you to edit in a way that they seem to think is good, which can be frustrating at times but its also somewhat good> anyway thank you for the support and have a good day!
Thank you for the feedback! I considered leaving it open in the beginning of the process but I don't believe it needs that much cooling as the original case for that card reader also did not have any airflow I've done some extensive testing and seems to be working normally even with it up against a warm iPad :)
