just converted a YZ to Qs138v3 - 51ah Chi battery - have 500+ miles on it - Great Fun and Fast - had to cut out most of bottom of tank - battery is same size as surron but taller - drops in from top - Electro and Co kit
It was $3,300 for motor, drive, and battery from electroandcompany. You can source everything by yourself for much cheaper but it will not be a plug and play solution
Looks great! I am halfway thru a YZF conversion. what controller did you go with? where did you mount it. I didnt see a video but could have missed it.
Now that you mention it, I didn't show the controller mounting in any video. I will try o post a short video on it. Ultimately, I put it in the air box under the seat. The 2017 CRF450 had dual exhaust on it, and I was able to use the exhaust hangers on each side of the sub frame to bolt a bracket for the controller to. This is the controller EM-260sp(28kw).I bought the entire kit from Electroandcompany.com
Could you get a shot of the frame trimmingtrimming you did to make the battery fit. I’m torn if I’m going to top load or side load. Any regrets going top load?
Yeah, I'll post a video of what I did soon. Top load seems OK so far. I don't plan on removing the battery or doing battery swaps. The biggest draw back is that I cannot put a gas engine back in it.
I have a 76V, 40ah battery from Electro and Company. It was one of the options for their DIY kit. I had the frame so I was able to measure the opening and I also looked at the batteries others were using on the Facebook groups. A lot of people have custom batteries made to fit their odd shapes. I went the easy route, but more expensive. What year frame did you get?
@@briandesilets8425 sorry I just seen your comments. There are two identical named ones on Facebook. Electric motocross builders - which I think was started by the guys that own electro and company. And the other is electric motorcycle builds.

Yo, I just purchased a Kx frame to build on. How did you size the battery before starting the build? And what size is your battery?

@ Thanks for the reply, I went with a 2014. It cost 1500, with new tires, motor blew. What forums do you suggest to find others?
or which Facebook groups?
