    Simply fantastic. My phone dropped in water for about one minute. Once it was dried, it was working normally, but after 5 hours it switched off by itself and it was no possible to switch it on. I have followed step by step this tutorial and I managed to disassemble and put it back together without any problem. Now the phone works again. Really great tutorial. Thank you.

    • @PBKreviews

      No problem, but keep in mind. For water damage, don't attempt to turn on the phone since you can short the parts. Take it apart, disconnect the battery. Dry any liquid inside and brush off any corrosion over chips or connectors, then re assemble the phone so you don't risk the board or other parts shorting down the line.

    Absolute lifesaver, I did not know if it was an easy phone to repair or a glue-built nightmare but this video made me buy a replacement screen. My phone dropped off the roof of my car at ~60 kmh and got run over by another face down but only the top layer of glass shattered leaving the screen and digitizer completely functional. The quality for price on this phone still blows my mind after 4 months of ownership.

      Bruh, it got run over by a CAR? After falling off one at 60 KMPH?! You should retire it on a soft cotton bedding if it's still able to wake. Good on you to repair though.

    Amazing video!
    On 1:41 you removed a flex cable of Fingerprint Sensor, right?
    1) The Power Button and Volume Buttons still works if I remove that? Is there a separate circuit for Power and Volume?
    2) I've notice some people telling the Fingerprint Sensor is the same as Redmi Note 9 PRO, but with a different shape of flex cable, do you know?
    I'm asking because my fingerprint sensor is broken and there's nowhere on internet that I can buy it.
    Thanks for your video and any kind of help.

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  3 года назад +1

      Yes thats the flex cable for it, if you disconnect it the power button will not work. The volume up and down has a separate flex which sits underneath the board. The board sits on top of that flex cable and the contacts make a connection. You will see that flex cable @2:43 in the video.

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  4 года назад +2

      You use smartphone adhesive. Usually its best to find precut adhesive which is already cut specific for your phone so it ensures a good seal around the back plate. But one is not available, you can use 300LSE or smartphone red tape. There are many types of adhesives.

      It is adhered to that plastic cover on the top portion. It helps transfer heat away from the main board to the back plate. If your's came off then you would probably want to apply some adhesive to a small portion of it to keep it in place over the top plastic cover as you see it in the video.

      @@PBKreviews Hi, so I just finished replacing my volume rocker and power buttons, and for the sake of anyone that wants to do the same I just want to say that you don't have to remove the motherboard and battery. You just gotta remove the back plate and the thin rubber strip at the left side of the frame, get the power button ribbon free by removing that other black ribbon on top of it (1:11), then you can get the power button out and put the new one in. Gotta be careful though because you have to bend the ribbon at two points in that tiny channel where that black rubber strip was. As for the volume rocker, it's just a matter of jamming it in from the outside after the rubber strip has been removed. I had to replace my volume rocker because it broke in half and fell out of the frame after a bad fall, then decided to also replace the power button with a blue one because mine was black, for aesthetic purposes 😂😂😂😂

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  4 года назад

      It's pretty strong but not sure how well it will be against keeping water out. Splashes and spills should be fine, but not sure how well it will do being dunked in a body of water etc. The rubber seal covering the inside of the openings where the buttons are should help keep some water out but water can still get into the keys themselves and possibly short the keys and cause them not to function.

      Hi, its possible either the screen has gone bad or the display connector was shorted or has corrosion around it preventing it from working. It can also be the display chip. Try taking it apart again and use a tooth brush to brush off any corrosion around any connectors or chips and put the phone back together. If still doesn't work, your next option would be to try a new display and see if the screen is the culprit. And if still no luck at that point the problem is with the motherboard and most likely you would need a new phone.

    Is there a way to fill in the gap between the battery and the back plate of the phone? I've noticed when I press down on the gap the vibration caused by the speakers is significantly reduced

      You might be able to use foam padding for the battery doors that some phones have (for example: www.ebay.com/itm/For-OPPO-Realme-X2-Pro-Original-Glass-Battery-Back-Cover-Rear-Door-Replacement/274559649707?hash=item3fed07c7ab:g:OAkAAOSw2V5foUSG) but I can't find any for sale aside from ones already coming with a battery door so you might have to buy a battery door for a different phone and peel off the foam barrier pad. But not sure if that will have an affect on the battery door being raised and not allowing the adhesive around the boarders to adhere to the frame. Also usually the batteries expand and contrast when they heat up or cool down slightly and not sure if that will pose an issue for that, I would lean towards not since it has a little room on the bottom of the battery compartment but yep.

    Please tell me, is it necessary to apply new thermal grease to the place where it was, between main board and copper pipe, or it's enough to just assemble back all? And if it's necessary, can you recommend which exactly thermal grease needed? Thank You 🙏.

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  7 месяцев назад

      Yeah its best to apply new thermal paste if you take it apart. There are many kinds out there, you can google to see which is better but avoid using highly conductive ones. Use one that has low or no conductivity since if it leaks or gets around anywhere, it can short your phone if its conductive. I'm not sure which is best to recommend you one.

Also do I have ro remove everything as you did to replace it? Thanks in advance, I can't find much about screen replacement that is in English and understandable so any help is appreciated.

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  3 года назад

      Hi, you would need to replace the entire screen assembly if the glass on the screen is cracked. You would need to remove the back plate and remove the screws and top plastic cover, disconnect the battery cable and volume key cable as well as the flex cable that leads from the main board to the sub board or charger port board on bottom. Then you would need to remove the battery to gain access to the screen cable and you would need to pry off your old screen from the frame, get your new screen, apply new adhesive and run your cable back through the opening in the midframe, apply your new screen and reconnected the screen cable to the main board and re assemble the phone.

    i have some experience opening this phone, but i got a problem i dont know why happens

    you know what could be?

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  2 года назад

      It can be a few things. One maybe some metal part that is not suppose to touch the frame is being pressed down and touching it causing it to short n not work or the connector for it is either damaged or the flex cable for the charger port is damaged so when its being pressed down when that cover is over it, it causes it not to work.

      Yes taking it apart will break the water resistance if any. But if you use an original precut adhesive tape (if available on the market) to re attach the back plate, then you should retain the water resistance and have no issue.

      Hmm not sure might be moisture or some sort of liquid that got in. Only way to clean it is to open the back plate and gain entry to the front facing camera to clean it. If its not to big a deal, its best to leave it alone so you don't remove the original adhesive seal around the back plate.

    For you is it possible to put the SD860 chip of Poco X3 pro in the Poco X3 NFC, or put the Sony IMX 682 and other cameras of the X3 NFC and replace the Cameras of the X3 Pro.

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  3 года назад

      I don't have the skills to do that type of work. But if you are asking if its possible, not sure as far as processor goes. For cameras, it may be possible if the connectors are the same and they sit in the same way inside the phone but it might run into software issues as well.

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  3 года назад

      Once you take off the back plate/cover, there is a rubber insert covering the flex cables which go for the power button on the midframe. You remove that and you should have access to taking out the flex cable as well as pushing in the button inward into the frame to get it removed if I am not mistaken. Just be careful you don't tear or damage the cable.
