    My Xiaomi X3 Pro had stopped charging. I had installed a new USB-C board, but that brought no success.
    The problem was that I had not attached the rubbers of the old board, which were installed around the USB-C slot on the new board. That was the missing key :) its working now. 17 € for saving this gem of a smartphone.

    There is no thermal paste on sd 860. What do you think about this design?

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  3 года назад +4

      You're right, usually there would be a thermal pad or paste between the copper tape and the processor as well, but the tape is very flush with the processor so I guess it still does the job since it has the thermal paste on top of the tape still. Not sure what the reason was for not also including one in between the processor and tape, maybe space? no clue.

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  3 года назад +2

      I usually try not to use different thermal paste since every type of thermal paste has a conductivity rating. Some are more conductive vs others based of the type of material they are composed of. Using something more conductive can cause your phone to short if the thermal paste gets onto other chips or between resistors making a connection between two chips and so forth.

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  3 года назад +1

      You're welcome. Yes you are correct, it seems it has thermal paste on the outside but none over the chipset itself. Seems kind of odd why they would not include it. Usually some sort of thermal paste or a thermal pad is needed to properly draw heat away from the chipset to the other heat transfer materials.

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  11 месяцев назад

      Hi, its safe, just use a hair dryer instead of a heat gun which is safer against damaging anything. You can gradually heat it so its hot to the touch, just move it around all areas to evenly heat it up. Then you can use a suction cup tool to help you lift up and pull up a side or corner to get your guitar pick in, then you can apply more heat as you work your way around prying it off. You can always use a metal tool like a razor blade etc to get in between the glass and frame without using a suction cup tool, but you would scratch up the frame.

    Hoi, i know i'm late to the party but i just noticed something funneh...
    The X3 NFC and the X3 Pro seem to have literally the same layout between them,
    Would you think that if i would take the logic board of the X3 Pro, will it fit the X3 NFC variant? i dunno, a ghetto upgrade, i'd say but would it be feasible? :D

    Looking at the design it look like most of the heat produced by soc is dissipated to the screen by a heat pipe, i wonder if i put a thermal pad on the back of the soc so that the heat can transfer more efficiently to the back cover would work. Or a paste if a pad is too thick?

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  Год назад +1

      I'm not sure if it would help much but I don't see it being a bad thing. In general, replacing the thermal compound or paste on this phone to a better one should help a bit.

    @ 2:12 I can see that there are 4 lens on the camera module but when you take it off it just shows one big lens on the lower right (in my pov) so does that mean that the other 3 lenses are just for aesthetic/design purposes? Please correct me if I'm wrong and please do enlighten me on this as I'm new to your channel.

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  3 года назад

      Hi, all the cameras are real and work. You can see those other 3 camera lens cables disconnected from the main board prior to taking off that assembly which holds those 3 cameras. And welcome to the channel :)

    Hi do you know if there is any way to reduce the vibration of the phone, since apparently when the sound is considerably loud the rear and bottom begins to vibrate noticeably, it can be a bit annoying.

    3:22 very strange poco did not put thermal paste on the SoC that's why the heating issues and some are bricked because of that design mistake, It feel me to put a better thermal paste because that's little to me

    Very detailed and excellent teardown Sir. Anyway, there is an annoying and aggresive vibration from, I dunno the vibration motor or speaker from this device. If I may ask, is the vibration motor removable? Or is there a way to minimize the vibration from the X3 Pro? Thank you.

    • @PBKreviews

      Thank you. The motor is held down with adhesive and is removable. Might be a faulty vibration motor. When do you hear the noise?

    some people say that the heating issue is due to no thermal paste on the phone, is this true? Could it be a software related problem?

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  3 года назад

      It's definitely possible. The thermal paste was not the best I have seen lol. Replacing it could help, also the copper heat pipe looked much cheaper than the one used in the prior X3.

    My Poco X3 died today. After a couple of days were the screen went "blue" with an immediate restart following that, it now remains at a black screen. No more reaction when pressing any button and/or plugging the charger in. Which of the shown components could most likely be the culprit?
