Lay person here.. no locksmith where I live. What tools should I have to re-key a residential doorknob WITHOUT the original key? It’s on a side door, so I can open the door from the inside and gain access to easily remove the knob. Love your videos. Very informative and easy to follow.
You’ll need a shim and an uncut blank of whatever keyway is on your hardware, or some way to pick them open. Shim and uncut blank are easier if ya ask me

I’m glad I had the comment of the week, that’s great! There is a local locksmith that wants to sell his business, a very big building, a couple of vans (one an old Snap-On Tool truck the other an old bread truck), a lot of inventory but he’s asking $400,000. He might take 300K but who’s got that kind of money if you are just starting out? I am new to the locksmith world, actually trying to build up my tools and equipment and learn as much as possible before getting my Locksmith license from the State. I really appreciate all the videos and hands-on tutorials because they are very informative! BTW, if you have a pdf of all the equipment a mobile locksmith van should have on it, that would be awesome. I’m racking my brain trying to think of everything that I may need. Thanks PJ! #Lockboss

Looking foreward to iOS, in the meantime I might download it on my tablet just to play with it. If you have an account would you be able to switch between devices(like have it on my tablet now and when IOS hits be able to use it on my phone)? Not a dealbreaker by any means, I just don’t use my tablet as often and would probably wait til IOS hits if It’s subscription per device. #LockBoss
