Louisiana has the least trendy music scene ever. True variety.
Truly badass. I’m damn proud to be from there. Soilent Green is a band to check out. Bluesy Intricate Swamp Metal.
thanks brother.. Really diggin Soilent Green from your recommendation!
Thanks for recommending Soilent Green. Shit rules
Born and raised in Louisiana...it has never even occurred to me that anyone wouldn't know who Soilent Green is. That's how thick this scene rolls down here. Thank you both for checking them out.
It’s only my 5th time watching this series
Which episode is the one where Jimmy bower goes to Glenn Rambo's house where he died but they wouldn't let him get too close right after Katrina?
really nice series, thanks bros and bro-ettes
my wife's from nola. i spent some impactful time there. i love the sound and the other side feel. this nails it.
Sept 1995, I was weeks past my 18th bday. Down was playing at St Andy's in Detroit. My drum teacher had an "in" w a WRIF guy who scored us some after show passes. Got to hang and talk w Pepper and Jimmy the most. Jimmy passed me a fat joint of some shit not from Detroit lol and just talked his ear off about drums which he entertained quite generously. Honestly, He and Pepper were two of the most down to earth people and were actually pretty funny. Of course I was a Pantera and COC fan first, but then became a HUUUUGE Down fan and then eyehategod, crowbar and so on and so forth. I know this vid is almost 8 years old. But watching Jimmy, and Pepper in the other episodes. They hadn't changed one bit, exactly how they were back in 1995.
Opened for EyeHateG*D back in Houston in 94-95. Had no idea about what they were creating. Houston though in 93-99 had a great music scene. Truly miss those days
I won tickets to see DOWN 2 different times from the radio station in central Massachusetts.. Never any other band.. was very odd. but glad I went both times. Saw SJR too, shit was fucking amazing.
Eyehategod god is not a metal band. They are the world's slowest hardcore punk band.
And the worlds heaviest Blues band
Fuck yeah. Even their fast punk parts are just covered in molasses. Haha. Love em to death.
really interesting to know where the NO sound come from. thank you all making this.
It seeks a life of it's own, then takes it's own life...
I could only find part 1 until I found the Asian links. Thank fucking god for that. Love this shit
nice video.
Stoked to hear that the Eyehategod dudes listened to SPK. I've always drawn a parallel between the imagery of both bands
this guy, (jimmy?) i dont know who he is(didnt watch part 1 or 2 ) but i could listen to him talk for hours. deep and bright as fuck. oh i definitely heard the influence of melvins in their shit. its why i kept watching :D
Meowy mcMeowface Jimmy Bower. He's the guitarist in eyehategod and drummer for DOWN.
He’s the shit!
