Thanks for making these videos. They are really enjoyable to watch. My dad had a1970 ford growing up so watching many of your videos takes me back. I have a 96 F250 i’m working on now and it can be the most frustrating but eventually rewarding thing to do in my spare time. lol I’d love to find one from that era one day. Anyway, I enjoy your content and hope you keep them coming! Take care!
Kinda wish you included the entire closed knuckle rebuild, but I know I’d get sick of wearing a go pro around and recording everything! Thanks for everything though, it keeps me inspired for my current project
Thx for sharing! I’d love to have all the shop space you’re working in. I have to do all my work in the open field next to the house and makes things difficult and time consuming
Hi Matt! Glad i found your channel! i went with a Dana high pinion 44 from a 78-9 in my 65, Parts are hard to find for the older axles. my 66 had the 5 lug Dana 60.2 not worth messing with when there are so many Ford nine inch rears laying around. I'll be watching!
I use to use John Deere Corn Head Grease in the ball ends of a Dana 44 because of the leaking issues. JD Corn Head Grease is thicker then Gear Oil but thinner then wheel bearing grease.
Love it. Making good progress. Would you consider making a video on the big white truck that was next to the trailer? Those medium duty 4x4s are few and far between.
I have a complete front 44 like that along with a set of vintage aluminum 16.6 wheels if you would like a spare for this project? The front axle is complete, I blew up the rear end and am swapping in Super duty axles front and rear on my 1973. I really don't want the axle go to scrap but I don't have room to keep it.
@@MattKubik1791 do you think it's possible to make a brake disk conversion for these old axles I've been messing with the idea designing some stuff on a 3d printer for a mock up
Find me one that isn’t 3k! We looked for one but didn’t find one close or for the right money. This truck isn’t going to be used hard so the correct dana 44 Hd will be plenty.

Nice work!!
Thank you! Cheers!
What’s a good rebuild kit for those axels ? I’ve got a 77 highly crew cab that I’m currently working on and in need of a good rebuild kit
Nice Job Matt. where did you get the new spindles? I'm fixing to do mine soon and I kinda think they will be shot too LOL
Torque king has the spindles
Where do you source all those front axle parts? I've looked in a lot places but it's really hard to find what you need
Torque king and our local parts store

@@fomocoloco7172 anything is possible with enough time and effort.
Why no Dana 60 in the front end?

@@jedclampett6466 that’s awesome! We had no such luck.
