Interior day. One morning in early March.
50 lucky spectators coming from everywhere they meet in a recording studio in Rome. Among them there are those who have traveled the entire night to be there, those who have crossed the English Channel, those of the Pyrenees, those who have chosen to bring their young daughter for a precious shared moment.
But all, without distinction, have responded to a call, to an unmissable occasion.
The air is happy and suspended, full of emotion and pathos, of familiarity and curiosity.
In front of those hundred eyes, "Dear Billie" (the new album by Joe Barbieri dedicated to Billie Holiday) is about to be born.
Each one finds her/his own corner in the room. Someone hugs. Silence descends, it becomes almost noisy. The tape starts and Joe - accompanied by three exceptional jazz giants: Gabriele Mirabassi on the clarinet, Luca Bulgarelli on the double bass and Pietro Lussu on the piano - starts with the first song, it is the one that gives the title to the project: "Dear Billie" .
And it is undeniably, forcefully, magic all around.
