    The height of the speed bumps seem just enough at the limit. Even the smaller Corolla at 1:30 can make it over without scraping. The only thing that I can see people take issue with is the quantity/spacing between the bumps. After 2 bumps (maybe 3 max) the cars have already slowed down enough. Any more than that is a little excessive.

    Besides the reducing it to one or two speed bumps, there's also a new "smart" speed bump out there. How that would go is if one goes over/through it slowly, then there's not much of a bump if at all. But if one goes over it fast enough, then there would be a big bump. Look it up if you have trouble believing that.

    • @ernestbywater411
      @ernestbywater411 7 лет назад +26

      As I said. they need to establish if it's an official access road. Most legal jurisdiction have laws on their books about access roads, and part of that is the road MUST have unaffected access to all vehicles in the same manner as a public road. If the road is, as is implied by it being the road to the other premises, then he can't legally put speed bumps on the road in any way that is inconsistent with traffic safely traversing the road at a reasonable speed. Also the installation of any speed bumps would have to meet the exact same standards as the council has for traffic control in a similar situation - which that installation doesn't have.

    The road is not blocked. Those speed bumps are at most 4 inches high. They are called traffic calming devices. I have speed bumps or humps on my local arterial used by trucks, cars, buses and motorcycles that are taller than these and a lot wider. They do their job. They slow traffic down. I do not like them any more than the residents do. The go fast people either slow down or of suffer the consequences. Virtually any street legal vehicle can go over these trailer park bumps. If not, it has something wrong with it. The RV complainers may drag their mud flaps, which is ok, but if they drag anything else, it needs fixing. The derogatory comments here are moot. They are not warranted. This is about people who deliberately choose to go faster than is safe on this guys property. They obviously are not interested in slowing down so the property owner came up with a method to slow them down that works. The only thing I would have done different is put them in at about a 30 degree angle to lesson the vertical shock loads on the suspension slightly.

      Most municipalities have laws dealing with access roads going through private property. If the road is the only way to get the park, the "private property" of the man in question may well be subject to those access laws. On top of that, there is a good chance the road is maintained by the local government anyway.

    Looks like even the lowest cars make their way over them just fine. Why does anyone need to fly over those at 50 miles per hour? It looks like they slow traffic to the appropriate speed for that kind of road. And an RV not being able to make it over those bumps? REALLY??!! Easier said than done. There's a reason why there are laws to protect tenants.
      Furthermore, in this case, the tenants signed leases, and these absurd speedbumps were not part of the facility at the time and therefore weren't part of the agreement that the tenants signed. By installing such a ridiculous set of speed bumps, the mobile home park owner breached his contract with his paying tenants. This is something the tenants didn't agree to.

    I am guessing that the people who are saying the current situation is okay, have never actually had to drive over so many speedbumps configured in that way. Or have any kind of disabilities. I have a friend who lives in an apartment complex with a similar (though not as bad) and whoa, yes, a few times in and out of there and I remember, and no longer offer to give her a ride. It kills my back, and not just for a few minutes. Needing to do that just to drive to my own home multiple times a day would actually make my spine even worse, all the time. So I'd be seeing what could be done, legally or illegally. Owner should tell his daughter to quit playing in the road!
