Are you serious? Eritrea lacks its own law; it's Ethiopian law that's in use. Remember, this type of session has often been a mere political spectacle, and I doubt such will ever materialize on the ground as long as a lawless government exists.

Dear brother/sister Eritrea never ever use Ethiopian law; to enlighten you Ethiopian law was derived from the law of the kings( " ፍትሃ ነገስ") and Eritrea had have it's own law called law of the father's ("ሕጊ እንዳባ ")Eritrea had served its' own people by this law even while Eritrea was under colonialists .

@@yohahmichael1442 Obviously, you don't seem to have any clue. The laws/codes beings applied and used in Eritrea's courts are Ethiopia's laws with proclamations enacted from time to time amending parts/sections of those codes of law. Customer laws("law of the father's" are not the ones in district, regional and high courts in Eritrea.

How and in what way? Most, if not all, African countries have achieved economic progress, while Eritrea was regressing economically. Eritrea has not achieved any progress economically. Most, if not all, African countries, including yours(Ethiopia) have opened new universities...or at least maintained educational institutions that they had. The government of Eritrea has closed down the only University the country ever had and reduced it to small departments/colleges. Most, if not all, African countries, encourage domestic investment; while Eritrea often does the opposite. Most, if not all, African countries, allow private media.....and Eritrea does not allow any private media. etccc

@@Jonas-vg9zg I had the same view just like you, I don’t know if I was being ignorant, naïve, or brainwashed by Ethiopian and western medias. In the summer of 2018, I travelled to Eritrea with my friends, to check if Eritrea is the North Korea of Africa or not.
I witnessed many poor people like any African countries but I never witnessed young children and adults sleeping rough like Addis Ababa or many parts of Ethiopia. Yes, the country hasn’t progressed much and this is mainly because Western government couldn’t tolerate the Eritrean government’s strong views towards western interference into their domestic and international policies. The Eritrean government’s Golden Rules are no Western aid, no corruption, no bow-down to western governments and no foreign interference on their internal affairs. All of that plus our western puppet leaders, especially Meles Zenawi was the instigator behind the political isolation and economic sanction on Eritrea. The Western government they used to call Meles visionary leader for their own interests and it was the same man who divided my country based on ethnicity and religions because of his selfish interests my country will never be unite again, we might even disintegrate as a country.
Again, going back to Eritrea, they’re still resisting all the sanctions. No African country can handle what they are handling as a nation. Their president and all their politicians are living a simple life like any ordinary citizens. This will never happen on any African country. They are truly an example for all African leaders. If this is what can earn you to be the North Korea of Africa then let it be.
We Africans need to stop acting like western servant, instead our leaders should serve their people. I can tell you many more facts based on what I witnessed, rather than what I heard on western medias.

@@ገመቹቶሎሳ Hey ገመቹ ቶሎሳ, if you are truly an Ethiopian, your comment clearly shows your utter ignorance, hypocrisy, ዘረኝነት, etc than naivety. You haven’t said a word about Abiy despite the latter putting the country in way and conflict in almost all corners of the country causing the death of about 2 million people and pushed many Ethiopians to poverty in just few years. If Meles was worst than Isayas, how come we did not see Ethiopians fleeing to Eritrea in droves like Eritreans did when Meles was in power? When Eritreans sadly were drying in the Sahara desert and drowning in the Mediterranean sea, why was it that we did not see that many Ethiopians (at least 20 times the number of Eritreans) facing a similar predicament in the past? Eritrea’s population is only around 4million….and, yet, when over three hundred fifty Eritreans drowned in Lampedusa years ago Ethiopians did not account to any number proportional to Ethiopia’s population. It was to the contrary, only 2-3 Ethiopians might have died.
It is funny, so you briefly cruised or walked through the streets of Asmara and confirmed that ‘Eritrea is not the north Korea of Africa’ and that its leaders are not corrupt at all? I am dying here :) If Meles was a puppet, how do you think he managed to build the country’s Renaissance dam despite huge pressures from Egypt, USA(Egypt’s ally) and many European countries, and opened the country’s market for Chinese companies? Did Meles imprison all Diasporas who criticized him or talked about his government in a bad light as much as Isayas? Obviously, if Meles’s rule was worst than Isayas, Birtukan Mideksa would not have dared to order the release of political prisoners and expected to remain in the country to attempt to continue challenging Meles’s government and Ethiopians would have fled to Eritrea in droves like Eritreans did or would have been subjected to a shoot to kill policy when Meles was in power? Do you even know how many Eritreans have ended up in prison for even avoiding participating in government sponsored events? Despite having a population of about 4million, do you know how many prisons the country has? Eritrean military officials are known to have been sexual enslaving female recruits, to using national service labor to build their private homes and business, and on farmlands they own, to confiscating homes of diaspora dissidents owning who owned homes in Eritrea, etc with impunity, not to mention the fact that high ranking officials were also involved in the smuggling of citizens and money extortions for decades …..and you dare to tell people here that there is no corruption in Eritrea and Eritreans officials are somehow Angeles? How pathetic!

This is magnificent and spectacular, Eritrea is ahead of its peer neighbors, because it has set the base and consciousness in each and every citizen. It isn’t about building infrastructure, but building the human consciousness has been an outstanding job of the Eritrean government since the day of independence. we have seen Nations left and right building infrastructure, which they have collapsed and their infrastructure & citizens are demolished & in tatters at the moment, some to name Libya, Yemen, Sudan and many others.
We the people salute the Eritrean Defense force and leadership for clarity and transparency. 🇪🇷🙌🫶🙏

This is not a dialogue or conference between African countries. This simply is an attempt to legitimize the bad governance in Eritrea by engaging some of these(some whom vocal) intellectuals serving as experts with regional and regional organizations. Otherwise, Eritrea was never short of its own experts who if not put in PDFJ's dungeons or pushed out of their beloved country by the dictatorial government you desperately continue to defend and support would have contributed a lot.
