My opinion, Steve is one badass drummer!! He'll be overlooked in "the best rock drummers ever" lists. Been going to concerts since 1983. Saw a lot of the greatest rock musicians ever. This is bye far, one of the greatest bands ever! It took all of them collectively to do what they did. Too bad for us,the internal drama that ended such greatness. Loose a lot of bands this way. Beatles,Cream, Pink Floyd,The Band,.........
hes a solid dude too. down to earth. shame they couldnt stick with Ford and Gorman. Marc Ford was one of those rare guitarist that has a unique method. Dont do drugs kids.
That jam before Black Moon is a perfect example of how ridiculous they were. They could literally do anything they wanted. They would just toy with the audience every night and take us on the ride. They were feeding off the crowd and we were having our minds blown. Damn that was a great tour
Yep. You either saw them with Ed and Marc, or ya didn't and even without Marc, it wasn't the real deal. Those two changed their sound in '92 and allowed their songwriting to really grow. It was destiny and it made them.
Best Rock and Roll band in the world during this time..(that means the Ed/Marc/Steve version, not the sham lineup the brothers are trying to sell as TBC now). Definitive Crowes lineup right here. Accept no imitations. All the shows from this tour were recorded. The last word on the REAL Black Crowes.
Man seriously perfectly said. I was in my 20’s during these years. You knew you were witnessing something very special. Been to very few shows since then that ring like these.
05, 06 were some of the most magical shows I have seen in my 40 years on this planet and I have seen hundreds of rock bands. May of 2005 at the Tabernacle was unlike anything I have seen or will see.
I saw them several times on the 05-06 tour but the greatest show was May 15/05 in Montreal at Metropolis. I’ve seen rankings of their best shows ever and this one was 4th on one list. Just… life changing.
I've seen the Crowes close to 30 times and probably 3 or 4 times on this tour and I have to say they we're at their best. Especially with Marc's second go round! I think they knew it as well with these almost 3 hr shows!
Mark America I hear you man, still think the best era was between 1995- 1997. Of course these were killer shows as well. The Luther Dickinson era came close, but not quite. Peace.
I agree with the assessment that Marc's 2nd time around with them was awesome. He was a better player by 2005 than he was 92-97. And he was awesome then! Just the natural evolution of a great guitarist. He made sure they couldn't talk smack about his playing this time around. Proof is in the tapes! Just killing it on the 05/06 dates. MFF is the man. F**k the Robin$on Bros.
Funny I didn't hear much from Ford beyond TBC . I love Mark' s playing , It was the Robinson bros music he was playing that sounded so good!. So all u haters give it a rest & appreciate what u get to hear. If it wasn't for the bro. u wouldn't know who Mark Ford was!! . Truth spoken .
the freak and roll show with the black crowes.indeed.i saw them 2 weeks after this in detroit. best crowes show i have seen.[28] they were on fuckin fire during this tour. firing on ALL cylinders!!
Been on a tour thru YT of Tumbling Dice covers, so I watched the last three numbers. Will be back for the whole show, it looks like they killed! Thanks for bringing it to us. Would have loved seeing the ladies singing some of their parts, but I guess this is a one camera deal. Amazing sound quality thru my cheap earbuds, thanks!
Great show. Love the setlist, many stuff from Amorica and beyond. Very trippy, noisy and melancholic. Maybe its not their popularity peak but I love so much this band, specially after their second album.
Wow bro you just really did it for me. I was at the show the following night on the 15th. Couldnt make this one, so when we got there the next night I was able to buy this show on instant live. So fucking amazing these 2 nights in Vegas were. And this is the old joint. Much more intimate than that new monstrosity. Im born n raised LV man. By way of ATX now. And in that OldJoint at the hardrock I saw everyone. Fucking everyone. Shit we had tickets for Jimmy Page and the crowes here too. But he hurt his back day before and they cancelled our show the night of. We were sooooo pissed. That was 1999
I was at this show...It was AWESOME! When buying a shirt at the merch table, I paid more to be able to get the recording of the show on CD directly after the show ended(this was before I had discovered archive . org etc...) Not sure how many times I've listened to the show, but I've always wanted to watch it again. Many Thanks!
Everyman Sam TBC may not have had great songs but at that point Jimmy Page was well past his sell-by date. Zep are my favorite band of all time but by he hasn't written any great new songs since the late 70's. And he would've made TBC sound like a Zep clone a la Coverdale/Page.
Brother Rich's southern accent comes out when he is singing more so than his speaking voice the band looked good hear Rich is still gorgeous as ever RIP Ed
Ballad of Urgency .. another one of many reminders of how good their records are . The “filler” is spectacular. Just from Amorica .. Descending , Cursed Diamond , High Head .
I saw them a week ago and they were pretty good but this version blows away the newer version. No long extended Allman Brothers type jams. Someone in the band doesn't like the extended jams, and im thinking it's Rich but I could be wrong.
Not often they do songs from the by your side album. It's like they kind of avoid them. I heard they weren't happy about making the album and were kind of forced into something by the label or something, with a producer they didn't want, who basically tried to force them to go back to the hard blues-rock stuff from the first album. It's still a fantastic album, and it's amazing here to see them with Ford playing go faster, it sounds pure class.
I was at this show and many on this tour. Quintessential Crowes performance. How I wish the 5 guys who are still with us that are on this stage would've been the ones to reform the Black Crowes and play 4k capacity venues around the country. I'd go to a lot of those shows...but sadly they're gonna try and fill 20k sheds with all new guys and not jam. Bummer and no thanks.
Caught 4 shows in 2005, 2 at the Tabernacle, Nashville, Myrtle Beach. Seen hundreds of concerts from 89-now. Never seen ANYTHING come close to this tour. They were plugged into the source or something. It was truly magical. They were absolutely sick, so damn good.
Well said man. I'm debating on going to see them or not. I saw them 3 times on this tour it was fucking great. Marc Fucking Ford is my absolute favorite guitar player and has been since I first heard the solo on Sting Me in like 6th grade. I'll probably go and complain lol. The brothers are going for the big payday its too bad
AMEN I just saw the new manifestation of the group a couple weeks ago here in Austin TX and I will say that they sounded great and put on the best possible show that they couldve without Gorman, Ford, And Harsch R>I>P> but this lineup from back n the day is the epitome of what the black crowes should and will always be in my mind. They jammed alittle at this past show NOTHING like how it was when I used to go see them. But Ill take what I can get for now I took 2 friends that had never seen them or me at one of my favorite groups of all times shows when it ended I was soaking wet with most of my voice gone these fools were like holy shit its like your body knows every beat to everything they play I explained to these 2 close friends of mine that when you LOVE a band and its music and you see and hear it live you transcend to a higher plane of existence real talk Thats what going to church is for me lol so with my raMBLIN aside theyve still got it they just need to bring the other boys home and really get it
This is exellent. One of the best shows from the 2005 tour, as far as I know. Killer set list, great show, great sound and now in real. Thank you a lot. Do you have the other LV show? ..... and what about the jam in soul singing, amazing:-)
Great show but so sad chris and rich wont mend with the multitude of continuing music those brothers could make ,,,,our grateful dead band would be so awesome
Bless you for this post. Quality is amazing too. How he got a camera in there. Love to know. Theyd try to cut your fuckin hand off if they caught you taping in there lmao
I was at night 2 in Vegas, does anyone have that video! Agreed, I saw them early in Boston then SF and lastly Vegas and over the course of the year they just got dialed in. Just watch MFF solo in Ballad. Night 2 highlights, a roaring My Morning Song, best version of Lay it All On Me and Mark & RR on Pink Floyd cover of Fearless.
No...Freak & Roll Into The Fog was from the Fillmore in San Francisco and filmed in August 2005. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freak_'n'_Roll...Into_the_Fog:_The_Black_Crowes_All_Join_Hands,_The_Fillmore,_San_Francisco
My Morning Song on that DVD Live CD is a Freaking JAM. How could these guys self destruct? They were amazing with this lineup, and I am a 5 show veteran. BTW Marcus King Rules!!!!
Steve Gorman made the Crowes sound like a real rock band!
I can't agree more!
I was there the second night!!! Marc was on fire!!!! They even covered Manassas!!
My opinion, Steve is one badass drummer!! He'll be overlooked in "the best rock drummers ever" lists. Been going to concerts since 1983. Saw a lot of the greatest rock musicians ever. Yeah Steve is awesome!
Marc has some absolutely gorgeous solos in this show. Ripping but understated. Ballad in Urgency, Wiser, North Country, Sunflower…
Apsolutly great guitar player.. 💯👍🎸🧘♀️🎶💙
This is the best concert I've ever seen live. OCTOBER 15 was just as good.
I believe it's RnR history.
Best Vegas run for my ears too. I’m so grateful to have witnessed this live
Girl from the North Country, -That was friggin beautiful.
October 2005, this band was at their absolute strongest. What a ride.
That jam before Black Moon is a perfect example of how ridiculous they were. They could literally do anything they wanted. They would just toy with the audience every night and take us on the ride. They were feeding off the crowd and we were having our minds blown. Damn that was a great tour

@Genious. The energy isn't there anymore and that could be their age or the other band members.
Love the backing singers perfect sound balance. Looks like they were enjoying the ride as much as I am sat with my dog waiting for the rain to stop.
This and the following night - one of the best two night stands they ever laid down.
Totally Bitchin

I caught them 3 times on this tour. 2005 Sate Theater, Detroit MI was the best one I saw. Probably the best concert i've ever been to.
Crowes flying high. Sounded like they came to play. Band is EQ'd perfectly.
I have never seen the Crowes live. Thank goodness for these videos.
Go! Don't miss ever agsin!
Also, Steve’s ability to play slowly, with a nice drag, but 100% on it... Nonfiction. 👌
Excellent....they're great band!!

TBC is a "current classic rock band". They satisfy my love for 70's-style rock.
I agree with the assessment that Marc's 2nd time around with them was awesome. He was a better player by 2005 than he was 92-97. And he was awesome then! They had some great shows in 2005. This is one of 'em. Juggernaut.
Really they are the best band...👌👍☝️

That Detroit show was fantastic
@@MW-on3ge definitely. First set closed with rich on vocals for Floyd's fearless.
I would also like to say that this is probably one of CR's best shows. Tore it up on Wiser Time!
マーク・フォードのギター演奏,めっちゃカッコいい‼️。
First time I seen them was at Red Rocks with Robert Planet., back in the early 90s.all I can say was WOW!!!!!!! 😲
BLEW ME AWAY✌🤗
The Crowes' best squad!
sho nuff!
cukek Agreed!
Mark Ford is a pretty decent guitarist.
There's so much Parliament Funkadelic in this show, I love it!
My first Crowes concert...totally blew my mind .
Thank You for posting this AMAZING Show.

the last great rock and roll band
I agree with that all the way....true American rock n roll band
This band has provided me lots of joy over the years

This is a band on FIRE!! Thanks for the upload!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thank God all of these shows were documented. They really are the last word on the REAL TBC.
Breathtaking. They f'n smashed it. Off d hook.
Halfway to Everywhere jam is epic!

Zhanna ... hope you are safe and well out there .. thanks for those great times in Vegas. This was our show. you were the Star Dust ...
Look kids! This was what rock and roll was meant to be and once was!!
What a real rock and roll and Soul band! Oh well. Now the Magpie Salute is picking up where the BC left off.
Sort of. They need to bring back the other 4 people and make it a 10 member band again.
Awesome upload. Thank you very much. If you have more, I'll be watching!
Wow, thanks for posting. I was at this show and only had the live CD they sold that night. Great to relive a great show.

Best team ever of TBC!!!!! RIP Eddie Harsch...
great gig
Jimmy Page had chosen Black Crowes to play with them some of the best Led Zeppelin songs ever! And Jimmy knows better! No other comment
Well he wanted to record with the band but Rich is a complete idiot and said nah we have great new songs, like Lickin'!
Everyman Sam TBC may not have had great songs but at that point Jimmy Page was well past his sell-by date. Zep are my favorite band of all time but by he hasn't written any great new songs since the late 70's. And he would've made TBC sound like a Zep clone a la Coverdale/Page.

Chris and Rich, Johnny, Steve, and Marc -- it's all you need.
Ed..?
mac a doo yeah and the back up girls.
That’s Sven on Bass ,,he certainly does look like Johnny sometimes.✌🏼

Any time I hear Go Faster I've added two years to my life. If I ever start my Crowes tribute band, that song is on the setlist.
Whenever I listen to Crowes music. By your side always feels like the odd one out album to me. Love it and the Crowes but it always felt different
The production sucks, Kevin Shirley was
definitely not the right fit. I don’t like his
style at all. 😬
Didn't want Kevin Shirley producing it the same time he was working with Iron Maiden. That was the only problem.
