Hey thanks a lot for posting this! I bought a barely used 2021 YZ450 last year (2 hours) and it was missing the Wi-Fi module. Ordered…took almost a year to arrive. Anyway I thought I was just going to plug it in and put the module in the cubby. Well, nothing is ever as easy as you think it’s going to be…I couldn’t plug it in as there was nowhere to plug it in to. I couldn’t tell what I was looking at or what went where. It turns out that the piece that plugs in to the bike was still plugged in even though there were no wires coming out of it. Maybe it comes from the factory as a cap on it? I hate electrical ribbons because it’s always so hard to tell where the plastic pieces end on either side and what mechanism is holding it in. I couldn’t tell what was supposed to come out of what or how. Thankfully you posted this video with a close up of the white piece so I could tell what came out and what was holding it in. Even with your video I still had a hard time getting it out/off because I had no wires to pull on to pull it out. But at least I knew which piece was supposed to unhook so I wasn’t breaking something by trying to do the wrong thing. So I wrestled with it for a while with pliers and a screwdriver and eventually got it out. This video also showed me how that wire was supposed to be routed. I’m surprised how difficult it was to get that box and it’s bootie and it’s wire all in. Anyway just wanted you to know your video was a huge help and I’d have been up a creek without it. The manual didn’t show anything.
CJ Drums no worries. I haven’t pushed it, but in my desert riding I expect 45-50, based on the miles vs gallons I’ve done so far. Slow single track should get more, but I haven’t done much of that.
My apple app doesn’t work it won’t upload maps with a 504 error and reads the stock maps wrong with +4 on all fuel points 🤦🏻♂️👎🏻 My wife’s android app works perfectly tho... Would you be able to share any maps 😊🤞🏻 I’ve got the 2019 wr450f but they are very similar... 🤔😅 Cheers for the update looking forward to your next vid 😊👍
Jono J that’s super annoying, glad you found a work around though. I use the “mx power feeling” on my map one, and the “mild power” in map 2 for when the going gets gnarly. If you select 2019 Yz450fx as another bike you’ll be able to see the maps on the app and copy them over 👍🏻
Forrest Films awesome thanks heaps 😱💪🏻👌🏻 I tried the yz and both wr options and none had any pre loaded maps 😢👎🏻 I thought they just didn’t do them on the 2019s 🤔😅 Your a legend can’t wait to try them out as I have no idea how to tune and really needed some help to get started 😊 thanks bro 👍
Sweet videos! Pretty cool seeing the trail i ride on your video. My buddys and i have been riding Hemingway every weekend the last month. I'd like to ride with you guy's! How do we connect?
j.h. adventure hit me up on Instagram. Link is in the description. We ride there quite a lot, will be down in Utah the next 2 weekends, riding and racing. But after that!
My app seems to work ok.. but it picks up everything but the engine RPM and throttle position .. no rpm and throttle on the app just temp and hours and such what the hell
What was happening before you fixed the wire? Looked for an earlier vid but didnt see 1 on it. I cant send mapping changes or see maintenance logs or the throtle and rpm guage
Bryon Sheehan The bike would still run right and everything. You just couldn’t connect to the Wi-Fi at all whatsoever. If you’re able to connect to the Wi-Fi connection on the bike you should be able to change those things 🤷🏻♂️
Bryon Sheehan that’s weird. Mine will only send the map if it’s connected but the bike isn’t running. When running I can see rpm though. I’m not sure what’s going on there 🤔
Ryan Hayes My tips in this video should be able to tell you exactly as it should go. Make sure the CCU is secure in the rubber boot as far as it can go, and make sure the rubber boot is secure on the plastic tab, plug it in and you’ll be good to go 👍🏻

Hey man, glad I could help!! Cheers 🍻
Sorry to bug ya... how many miles are you getting on a full tank? Desert vs singletrack. Thanks, man!

In the 250f 2019 the ccu is in the same place?
Miguel Lazcano as far as I know, yes.
My app seems to work ok.. but it picks up everything but the engine RPM and throttle position .. no rpm and throttle on the app just temp and hours and such what the hell
Jake Hynds annoying

@@TheMitchForrest had to replace the ccu works fine now. I guess ot can malfunction at different levals
Bryon Sheehan interesting. Glad you found a solution!
Can you make a video on that CCU install? I just got a 2019 YZ 250f and am not 100% on how it should be hooked up and mounted. Thanks!
Ryan Hayes My tips in this video should be able to tell you exactly as it should go. Make sure the CCU is secure in the rubber boot as far as it can go, and make sure the rubber boot is secure on the plastic tab, plug it in and you’ll be good to go 👍🏻
Grab the WiFi password before putting in the bike though.
I have a 2019 wr 450f and it doesn’t read anything. No throttle position. No hours or anything. Really need help 🤬😤😞
I can connect but nothing works 😭🤬
You fix it ?
Install course foam to fit compartment, should stay secure.
Tony Bender great idea. Thanks for the suggestion.
I'm going to duct tape that sucker to the rubber mount so it doesn't move!
CycleCruza great plan!
