    We started using Jady A's format for reading when my daughter was 3 years old and now at 5 she is reading at second grade level!! I love that Jady expanded her curriculum! I
    also recommend Jady A's curriculum for beginners.

      Same! I started homemade letter sound flashcards when she was 1 and she knew them all before she was 2. I then made flashcards that had the 2 letter blends at the start of the first book (ba be bi bo bu) and she had that down by 2.5 and was reading small sentences like "the pot is hot" by age 3. She was 4 reading any picture book and recently had her 6th birthday; she can now read at a 3rd or 4th grade level.
      I gave birth to my 3rd daughter when my middle daughter was about to turn 2. The toddlers are now 3 and 1 so I'm just getting around to teaching my 3 year old the 2 letter blends using Elemental Phonics Level 1! I only managed to do letter sound flashcards with her just enough to prevent her from forgetting during pregnancy and her baby sister's first year of life. I'm so happy to finally have the time and energy to move onto the next step! Conveniently, it seemed to perfectly line up timing-wise with when she started showing signs of readiness and not being in " toddler la la land" all of the time so she can actually focus on a lesson now. I might purchase Levels 2 and 3 from Jady after she completes the 1st. 🙂

    Loved this video!! Thank you for posting.
    We aren’t using these exact books as we have a different phonics program . But we started using Jody A for teaching my son his sight words. We started 6 weeks ago and he didn’t know any sight words unless they were ones easily sounded out. So he wasn’t a fan of reading (unless we read to him then he loves books). He now breezes through them. Almost done level K and going to move on to Grade 1 after Christmas. His reading has come so far in just six weeks.

    • @lifewithginab
      @lifewithginab  Год назад +2

      Happy this was helpful!
      Voiced sounds are ones where you can feel a vibration.
      On the other hand, unvoiced sounds do not make a vibration in your vocal chords.
      Unvoiced consonants are made just with air, sound from the vocal cords. For example, hh, sh, tt, pp. Voiced consonants do have voice in them, like: mm, bb, zh. Hh, sh, tt, pp.

    We're seriously considering it instead of 100 lessons, I really like how she lays everything out! But first I need to get the 4.5 years old to learn the letter sounds. I've tried everything I did with my first as well as different and can't seem to get there. With time I guess 🤣. What have you used with your second?

    • @lifewithginab
      @lifewithginab  Год назад +1

      Hi Katia ❤️ You know what? He was just showing signs that he was ready and I went with it. I think, like you said, take it slow, and every child is different. I have a lot of educational toys, and I would just go over the letter sounds a couple of mins a day... if we were to watch something on the TV, it would be educational, such as alpha blocks, and if he's on a tablet, he uses his Homer Learning app that I spoke about in the video. But yeah, I think slow and steady wins the race :) I really like this curriculum, though, because of how simple and affective it is!
