Something critical to point out that most people ignore. Air suspension is what causes camber wear on the model s. And it can be expensive when it breaks. The old model 3 has no camber issues if aligned and my tires lasted over 50k miles. The new adaptive suspension doesn't raise or lower so it also shouldn't have camber issues.

    • @wsu8568
      @wsu8568 4 месяца назад +2

Too much negative camber cause inner tire wear issues not because it is air suspension. That can be easily fixed without some $40 dollars shim/washers or adjustable camber links if you want fancy.

There are no issues with the MS LR and Plaid owners with 19 inch wheels so that’s not true. Yes I believe stock there is more camber and toe out that needs to be there but a taller tire will really make things worse and the 21’s are a perfect example of that.

I think it was smart to make the new Model 3 Performance a little different (exterior styling and inside with new seats) against the LR and Standard Model 3. This will help encourage customers who value being different to upgrade to the M3P.

I'd be more interested to see how the M3P stacks up against the regular Model S Long Range. The specs and price are a lot closer.
Currently own an older Model S, but I've driven the previous M3P. Never thought I'd ever like a larger sedan, but it's hard to beat it's practicality.

Ordered my M3P and expecting a June 2024 delivery. Been contemplating changing my order for a MSP. Financially the M3P makes the most sense but if you prefer a larger/more luxurious sedan with insane performance the MSP is the way to go; especially with the new/upgraded performance seats and steering wheel. Still on the fence but this video is fantastic! Size wise the MS has more shoulder room and if you're a larger person who drives long distances that make a HUGE difference. Might just stick with my order and get the NEW MSP whenever it drops.

I’m waiting for the Model S LR refresh personally. The Model 3 is TOO SMALL for my needs and I prefer the air suspension and drivers screen as well. Is it worth $21K more? Probably not but that’s due to Tesla overpricing it. For performance other than 0-60 the new M3P will still get destroyed by the LR with its 10.6@129mph quarter mile sprint and 670hp. The new M3P won’t do under 11 seconds in the quarter. Tesla decided to make the new M3 a mini S sort of so now they need to take the Model S to an another level if they choose to do that.

Great video. IMO.. the new Tesla model 3 performance “aka ludicrous” is Tesla’s best car right now for the buck, hands down !! ⚡️😎 The model S has camber issues which I am not sure has ever been fixed. Many owners complaining about the bad camber causing wear on the rear tires. 😬

    Model S/X Refresh has a 100kWh pack, not 105kWh.
The Tesla blog post is quite specific in saying the 4DU "can deliver up to" since we know the battery is not able to fill those shoes by that extent.

Model S “only” has 20% more cargo room but it’s a lift back it makes so much more practically with that extra space ..
Also 1 thing not pointed out is the bio weapon defense mode heap air filtration on the S
Also, sadly for the model, S, even though it has a higher wattage premium bigger speaker system, I heard that the model three still sounds better due to its 2nd subwoofer & it being a sedan or something it helps with the acoustics? Idk I’d like to test out for myself hopefully one day

Awesome comparison video! I very much like the M3P and would buy it over the MSP if I didn't already have a 2022 M3LR. However, I recently took delivery of a MSP and just find that car utterly magnificent! It is my dream car and stylistically is much more pleasing to look at than the M3P. It's perfomance is, hands-down, the best in it's class. A family sedan that is better than high-end supercars is something else. 😅

2024 M3P should be in the 10s in the quarter mile. It'll be a game changer for the mid-range gear heads that pull up to you that's for sure;) Best bang for the buck at that price! I have the MSP with 19" and it's doing 9.1 - 9.4's all day long (as long as i keep the SOC > 85% :D). I don't care about track prep, temperatures, humidity or drag radials. I just show up with a cup of Chai in the console ;) The days of sniffing the fumes are over... :P (oh but it's better than what you sniff... twister comeback lol). I'll be doing lightweight wheels & brakes and take the back seat assembly out... Should be in the 8s then.
Just a little episode that happened the other day. My wife and I were in her 2023 M3P. Some 350z with rims, exhaust (no cats... very loud) and most likely a tune was tailgating her and then tried to pass in by going in the merge lane and back in which would of cut her off (not much of lane left). Well she hit it.. and the car just bolted which gave them plenty of room to merge back in behind us;) They raced at the next light and you all know how the M3P is from 0 - 100 mph :D Well as they pass us (after they lost badly) by with their exhaust pipes wagging between their legs... they flip us off :D You want it... you get it!

I am going to give this 12 months to see if there is battery technology improvements. Get the model 3 performance model’s range up around 400 miles and then I would consider upgrading from my 2022 model 3 performance. That would include the extra expense of paying off the difference of what I owe versus what it is worth given the prices were lowered putting a lot of Tesla owners underwater 😢!

      Ever hear of the question
"how many angels can dance on the point of a pin"?
      .
You're debating performance on mass production vehicles with what would have been "Supercar", or rather "Hypercar" numbers not long ago, (actually, I'll take that back ... Should be *current* Hypercar numbers!) and which are way beyond the skillset or even comfort level of most owners.
      .
Then you move to speculation from an "expert" channel which sometimes uses dubious assumptions as a basis for calculations which then "deviate" further (but it gets clicks.... So what the hell?)
      .
Next you throw in the now almost obligatory "I own one (so this must be true!!) and I'm not satisfied" FUD-like comment,
Then a situation which can't happen (unless your 9 year old can hack a Tesla? .... While you're driving)
Then a final couple of speculative, but not really fact based lines which appear to be a gateway for others to throw FUD. (Another common tactic... Throw a "what if?/ I think" line, aiming for a number of "I agree" replies, which when multiplied in "FUDland" become "solid facts" in the minds of the FUD faithful.
      .
      Maybe... Maybe not
      .
      Whatever.
