- The amazing sight of a train crossing the restless, windy waters of the ocean on the Pamban bridge in Southern India. One of the more spectacular sights and an amazing railway sector that captures the intrigue of everyone passing by sometimes causing traffic jams on the parallel road bridge.
The Rameswaram Express, also referred to as the daily boat mail express, is seen here making a very slow, cautious crossing of the Pamban bridge on a windy December day.

The bridge was designed by an American company based in Chicago and executed by a British Company Head, Wringtson & Co. Ltd. M Visvesvaraya did K R Sagar dam of Mysore which is another engineering marvel.

I had travelled by this train in the late 60s,Talaimannar by boat to Rameswaram,Rameswaram to Egmore Madras by train.Enjoyed the journey.God bless everyone travelling on this train
