I am not a planning person, so I do not own any planners and never will. But most of the people I see on YT own like 3 to 5 planners at a time and I could never comprehend what they use them for. Also, they are filled and stuffed with stickers and washi tape with barely any writing on them. Yours is NOT messy but pleasing to the eye, it's really beautiful.
I think some planner folks are into functionality while others are more into creating art with aesthetic layouts, spreads, and stickers. It's sort of like journaling: there's pen-only diaries on one end and "junk journals" on the other. I love it all
I appreciate hearing that you find my style to be pleasing to the eye! I know, we have such a diversity of journalers! I'm learning how to find a way of journaling that feels like "me," and right now it's using just the A6, but who knows, future me might add on 1 (or 2!) in 2023, and if I do, I'll definitely create a video to explain myself. :)
This is the first planner flipthrough I have seen that feels so free in the expression of it (I always feel like I need to fit in with stickers and an aesthetic and this has just really given me a relaxed perspective to know I dont need to force myself to do that)
Hi Almina, that is so kind! I'm glad that my laid back approach encouraged you!
Journaling is such a personal experience. I love that you are trying to find YOUR own style, that’s what I’m doing right now. I’ve been journaling for years and as I grew and changed, my style as evolved with me. I don’t think your process is messy, I think it beautiful and it’s a testament of you! Blessings! Thank you 🙏 for sharing! 😍
Thank you for the note of encouragement!
This video just changed my entire planner perspective and I can't thank you enough!! I do enjoy decorating, but I have a serious need for functionality. Sometimes I really get in my head as though I can't plan until I've decorated and the page is ready - so then I'm hauling a bunch of decor stuff to work with the intention to decorate so I can get my life together, but can't find the time so then I'm hauling everything back home. Rinse, repeat, and then I'm just disappointed in myself. I never thought to plan first, then go back and decorate!! Not only will it allow me time to decorate without stress or time constraint, but it will also be a good opportunity to reflect on my week and see what's working, what's not, and how much I've accomplished. I'm so excited for this new perspective and can't thank you enough!!
I am so glad this video was helpful! I hope you find freedom and more play with this approach.
Thanks for sharing. I enjoy seeing how others use their Hobonichis. It seems so versatile. I will be trying a 2023 A6 English version for the first time in January.
Love that you're trying the A6 English version. I ordered the Take a note for next year but now I'm trying to find a reason to purchase the A6 english version as well! lol.
Thank you for sharing! I just purchased this planner for 2025 & was looking for a flip through. I love how the ink isn’t bleeding through! I also love how you go back & color in a page. Your style has given me ideas.
I love how you use your daily planner! thanks for sharing ☺️
I love this video a lot, it's one I tend to gravitate towards rewatching when I'm getting too in my head about "planner perfection" or my particular system. I still remember having a real lightbulb moment" when you showed how you fill up some empty leftover spaces. 💡
Thank you! Yes, it makes the planning experience more fun when I return to the previous pages and color them. :)
You make me want to purchase a Techo, a perfect combination of functional planning and decorating.
I really appreciate your functional style. I like to decorate when I have the mental bandwidth and time but most of the time I just want to get whats in my head on paper and be consistent. If I am overly concerned with making things pretty I give up and lose consistency. One of the reasons I chose the A6 size was to encourage consistency because there is little pressure to fill up a large page. Overall my goal this year is to be consistent. Thanks for sharing!
I love how you fill up the blank spaces! I love to do that too, usually with stickers or a quote or something. I also usually peel the stickers off my Starbucks drinks and stick them in my journal :)
I don't know what it is about Starbucks drink labels, but it does add a fun touch to pages, right?? :)
Love your Hobinichi
Love love love what you are doing in this a6. Never thought to colour in pages after the fact. It's beautiful.
Thank you so much!
I love your aesthetic, Liane! This video is an inspiration to me.
I'm so glad!
I’ve just “discovered” you, am very much enjoying watching your videos on a lazy Sunday morning. Thank you for sharing, especially your discovery approach. Up until this week, I’ve used a Traveler’s Notebook regular with blank inserts that I create my own weeklies, mostly plain bullet journaling style but with some stamps and stickers (black ink of course) such as an airplane if I’m flying that day. Now I’m moving to an A6 Avec for personal daily journaling and I think mine will also be rather free form. Certainly explorative, whatever strikes my fancy in my free hours.
I will have to look into an avec a6, and love that you bullet journal in your blank inserts. Before I was a hobonichi planner, I was a functional bullet journaler for years so I will dabble with some elements of bujo-ing in the new year!
@@lianelikes I mis-typed, an Avec A5. I think. These numbers get all mixed up in my head!
Awesome! I have a day free A6 and wanted some art journal inspiration. Thanks! ❤
Awesome, Felicia!
I really like this planner flip through. It looks really organic and authentic and free and unrestrictive. I think I try too hard to make my planner FIT a certain model and structure when I am also more free-forming and flowing like yours!
Thank you! My planner style is very, very organic and free-flowing so I love to hear that you are, too! I've tried to add more structure to my planning and found that I wasn't able to maintain it for too long. :)
I just discovered your channel and enjoyed this flip through full of unique creativity. I have the English version A6 and ordered the new English version A5 and Weeks for 2023. New subscriber. 🖋🥰
Thanks for subscribing! You made some excellent choices for 2023. :)
Wow I realised that I also mostly use markers to doodle/color in for decoration 😂 I hadn't seen this much on videos haha It's so fun, especially if I don't have any other things around (because I will always have markers nearby anyway ❤)
I really loved your walk-through of your planner!!
Thanks so much! Wishing you the best, too!
I'm still trying to find what works for me, love seeing examples that others have tried. If you like the weekly layout, checkout the hobonichi cousin (it is only available in A5) but there is a weekly supplement for the a6 with just the weekly spreads. Personally, the weekly layout is me favorite, I struggle to find time/content for the daily pages without repeating the same info... Good luck! 👍🏻
I also have a Hobonichi cousin but I found it to be difficult to fill each page and manage the weekly and daily pages; I now use the notebook for testing inks and jotting notes. I didn't know there was a weekly A6 insert! I will check that out, thank you!
Your videos are so cool 🙏❤😁
Aw, thank you!
I love your aesthetic.
Thanks so much!
I like the black-white version better. It's minimal and elegant. Last year I used "Cousin" simplified Chinese version. It's too colorful for me.
I like Monday starts, because the weekends are together. But in a daily notebook like Hobo, that's not really important to me. But I can especially understand you mixing up the days of the week, because I do that too!
I'm a native Chinese speaker, so it's easier to read Japanese than you. But the day of the week in this form looks quite difficult for me too. 月火水木金土日👈Doesn't seem regular to me. I've only gotten used to them in the last year or two.
I searched the platform in mainland China and people's usage is basically for journaling and decorating, rarely for planning. I used to use Hobo as a diary. But I'm thinking of using it as a planner next year.
I wanted a plastic cover too, and it turns out the Midori A6 plastic cover fits the Hobonichi quite well! I have two Midori A6 plastic covers. Thank you for this information. I think next year I will use "Planner" and Midori A6 plastic cover. Hobo cover is too cumbersome for me. They are really beautiful. I have some. But really tooooo cumbersome. :P
Thank you for this. I’ve debated for so long and this is the first video I found that actually shows someone’s genuine planner.
What are your favorite pens to use in the techo? Thanks!
Thanks so much! I really enjoy using my fountain pens and Uniball jetstreams in the techo.
Can you provide more info about "take a note"? Where can I view this product? Great vid btw!
Thank you! I should have done a follow up video about that! I ended up NOT liking the take a note because the paper wasn’t as enjoyable to write in as my hobonichi.
I don’t want a quote to read, so, Japanese works for me! Monday start is what I’m used to. A Sunday start would be hard to use.
I think a Monday start makes the most sense, though my brain is so accustomed to a Sunday start!
I've resisted getting a Hobonichi for fear of not consistently using the structured parts of the format and thinking "That would be a waste." But your approach of filling in empty spots on past days with doodling, quotes, etc. has me putting a Hobonichi back on my next purchases list. Thank you. When you open your A6 Hobonichi does it lie flat without too much fussing?
Hi Shai, you know, I haven’t been bothered by the pages at all when I open it. It lies very open when you compare it to other journals where you have to lay the pages down with a clip. Pretty no-fuss for me!
Will you have a planner line up for 2024?
Hi! Yes, I’m planning on it. :) but it’s coming a little late, in January!
Great video, so thoughtful of your daughter to gift you stickers! I will be getting my first hobonichi. Where did you get the clear cover?
Thanks! I think it is the Midori A6 plastic cover!
Your video was great! I also love your nail polish! Do you know which one it is? Thank you!
Hi, thank you!!! I know for sure the base is OPI’s funny bunny, I might’ve added a sheer glitter polish on top but not certain!
Thank you very much!
Love the video. When I look them up I see an A6 Hobonochi black one and then this one… is the main difference that one is in English?
Yes, I believe so! It’s also mostly black pages and a more simple hour-by-hour segment on the left side of the page.
For 2024 they announced they will also have an English version of this layout !!! ❤❤
What is the clear cover you are using on your A6 Original planner? Love the simplicity of it
Hi Evelyn, it’s the plastic cover by Midori for their A6 notebooks, I love it too!
❤❤❤❤❤
I love your spontaneous style! I find that sometimes im too careful with my journal i that i just end up not using it because it required too much thinking. where did you get your clear cover? I have a clear cover for the hobonichi a6 cover but it's too big for just the insert alone :(
Thank you! It’s a Midori cover for their a6 notebooks. Fits perfectly!
@@lianelikes such a good idea! ty!
PLEASEEE where can I get the clear cover?? 😭I can’t find an A6 one that’s JUST clear😢
Oh, it's the Midori A6 clear plastic cover, fits like a glove!
@@lianelikes BLESSSS YOUUU
I have been searching for a Spring start in the English version and I don't think there is one. 😭
I’m finding that is the case! English version’s available only for January starts.
Let's see, they may have it for 2024 !! Since they will offer an English version of this a6 layout for this year !! Excited!! ❤❤
hi :) where did you get the clear plastic cover?
Hi there, the cover is a Midori A6 plastic cover and it fits the Hobonichi quite well!
Can I ask you which cover are you using here? Im not able to find a plastic cover that fits with a “naked” Techo a6..
thank you for answering if you will 😊
Yes, of course! It's the Midori A6 cover. Fits perfectly with the original Techo A6.
@@lianelikes thank you so much!! 😊
Really like this style. Realistic and not perfect planning. Functional
Thanks so much, Gizelle!
