Good job my man. It takes balls to film yourself and put it out there. Don’t pay much attention to the nitpicking feedback that one guy on the firefly forum gave you. He was gifted 2 free guitars from firefly and that group’s Admins a couple of years ago and could barely be bothered to post a proper thank you video to the members that chipped in to make it happen. He also said his arm was too hurt from work to play them on camera.
I just listened to a couple of videos of Buckethead for the first time, and he's brilliant. I know a guy I bought an effects pedal from on the fleabay told me he loved buckethead, and I now see why lol
Yea the guys is an incredible guitarist. Puts out TONS of guitar music as well. I think he's put out over 400 albums and thousands of songs by now lol Seems like he just sits down and records all the time.
Looks nice. These cheaper brand guitars seem like great platforms to upgrade. Hit em with a good setup and put in whatever pickups you like, that's my plan with an EART I got a while back. I love the buttons, like straight up arcade buttons.
Thanks, and funny enough my first EART just got delivered this morning. I got the NK-C3 in red which I plan to use as a mod platform. Unboxing and more to come on that EART soon.
Love to see a guy unboxing with an actually good pocke knife instead a gas station knife, or a kitchen/butter knife. I only saw it quickly but its not only a Civivi but a Ben Peterson design? Nice.
Thanks! Yup! it's a Civivi Baby Banter designed by Ben Peterson. I got 3 of em, love those little guys. Another hobby of mine is knives...haven't gotten any recently though because it seems all my hobbies start to get expensive 😂
@@Lyrical-Impact same here. I've got a pretty good collection but the prices have driven me out of buying much of anything lately. Seems like all the $80 knives are now $150 and everything I expect to be $150 - $200 is creeping up next to $300. Just looked the other day out of curiosity and my Spyderco PM2 is apparently now a $200 knife. It's ridiculous. Civivi (and it's little brother brand Sencut) is one of the few brands that I've even considered buying lately, along with Kizer, Bestechman (what a horrible name, lol), Miguron and and some of the cheaper Spyderco. I've been all but driven out of being able to afford the U.S. brands lately. The value offered per dollar just doesn't fit my budget anymore. Fortunately I've already bought many of the classic U.S. models in the past few years whose prices have skyrocketed lately. I did just see another model that Ben did with MKM that I'm going to grab though. The Yipper 🤣. Crossbar lock, magnacut steel edc knife for under $150. Gotta have that.
Looks like decently put together mod platform. I'd replace the top button with a kill toggle and change the bottom button to a series parallel toggle. Nice video!
You really don't need to mod anything on Firefly guitars. The pickups tend to be pretty good and the only issue I have had with any of them is they didn't ground my LX properly so I had to do that myself. But other than that, I put locking tuners on my LX and a Bigsby on my 338 and left everything else standard. Their new models come with locking tuners standard.
@@FortessofShred Buckethead's Les Paul guitar is known for having two kill switches. The main reason for this is Buckethead's unique playing style and use of effects. The kill switches are used to immediately cut off the sound from the guitar, creating a stuttering or chopping effect in his music. This allows him to create rapid-fire, staccato-like sounds, adding a distinctive element to his guitar playing. The dual kill switches provide him with more flexibility and control over the timing and patterns of the sound cuts, contributing to his innovative and experimental approach to the instrument.
The toggle switch is literally turning off the front pickups or turning off the bridge pickups. So, that is why you have a kill for both. And if you have the toggle on the bridge, you wouldn't want to try and kill the neck pickup.
the white isn't a vinyl, when they paint the guitars white they have to scrape the paint off to expose the binding, when you can see wood like that it just means that they were rushing the scraping and went a little to far and didn't notice it or didn't care in quality control checks. Hope this helps!
Thank you! And yea someone in the FB Group brought that up as well and I can see how that would happen now. They probably used a very thick coat of paint, and then when they went to scrape the binding it left those more chipped/jagged looking edges. Thanks for the insight 🙌
Very cool I had a buckethead studio years ago long story short my ex wife sold it when we broke up that broke my damn heard I have a tattoo of it on my forearm... but yeah my killswitchs worked in both the same didn't matter the position of the switch the body was oversized like an es gibson and this one only has 22 frets bucketheads is 24 soo close with this guitar if it was 24 frets I'd jump on one of these the electronics can always be rewired

What puts me off this guitar is the tap buttons. They seem to big, looks funny. I don’t know much about buckethead, but looking at Eddies Van Halen’s Tap button, it’s huge.
21:38 bucket head has it set up like that think a neck pickup pickup selector where the top killswitch is different killswitch kills different pickups for a different sound thats how bucket head made it to solo and hit that killswitch also you can hear the killswitch cause your splitting the pickups as single coils so it more noisy and picks up noises more
@@Gothguitarist why would he have it wired that way? and i’ve seen him use the kill switch on the bridge pickup while pressing the killswitch near pots. It literally makes no sense. of both buttons do the same purpose of killing the signal, why wire it a different way? it costs more from gibson and serves no benefit.
@azizlewis have no clue I just know his killswitch buttons work that way and he can even do it with his toggle switch . Or more less he just turned the volume down on his pickup to split the pickups kinda id that makes sense
It's supposed to mimic a mutilayer binding. Gibson custom usually has 7 I think. W/B/W/B/W/B/W. It doesn't look like a real multilayer binding on this example.

Surely the kill switches would be better if they only cut the one pickup when using the two pickups together? Or maybe have another switch that switches on or off the complete sound kill, so you can use them both ways
Thank you for the review. I’ve got a firefly junior and it’s a great guitar. The P90 is has a nasty tone. I like the dual kills!
