While art, culture and superior craftsmanship has always been the spirit of Pasha, the very finest of source materials is the heart which beats within. Hence, Pasha Cashmere Shawl not only brings you the most luxurious sensory experience, but the finest in artistic practice and design as well.
A Passion for Woodwork
The Pasha Cashmere Shawl comes to you in a hand sculpted wooden box which not only pays homage to the traditional art of woodworking, but contemporary design aesthetics as well. The wooden box has been made with the seasoned wood of the Thorny Bush Acacia. And as such, not a single piece of metal has been used in its making.
The Dream
All journeys start with a dream. And well before the delicate threads of cashmere were entwined together, the dream of Pasha Cashmere Shawl was envisioned with paper and ink, and engraved upon paper with the expert hands of our resident miniature artist using a crow quill pen.
Of the Cashmere Yarn and the Hand Loom
Together with material and craft exploration, the aesthetics of what would become the Pasha Cashmere Shawl were also explored within the Pasha Studios. While the superior materials were sculpted into the wonder of Pasha Cashmere Shawl, the spirt of art was too poured into it with the inclusion of golden yellow and piercing crimson yarn, to produce the signature design of the shawl.
To keep and to cherish, for ages to come
Paying attention to the tactile interaction of materials, and the sensitivity to it, Pasha Cashmere Shawl box comes wrapped within Lincot, which itself is a rich blend of Linen and Cotton, and a proud creation of Pasha as well. Likewise, the beautifully crafted leather label was hand stitched on every jacket by the expert hands of our in-house embroiders.
The Art of Printmaking
The classical printmaking techniques of Etching and Dry Point were used to create the artistic imagery within which each booklet was later bound. Therefore, each cover is a limited addition artist print, taken on archival paper, which was produced on a traditional hand operated printmaking press. Each edition of the print has also been marked by a unique number by the artist himself and is included within the serial number found on the Pasha Cashmere Shawl authentication certificate.
An Afterthought
After weaving the cashmere into what would form the luxurious Pasha Cashmere Shawl, they were secured by hand at the edges in a delicate process, whereby creating a lush fringe reminiscent of the winter coats of the cashmere goat itself. The artisanal technique uses cashmere yarn as well, and leaves one in awe at the marvel of its exquisite craftsmanship.
