Band Saw Fixture Plate

- I was inspired by Chuck Bommarito @outsidescrewball and decided to make my own fixture plate for cutting small pieces in the band saw. As I was editing this video Gilles from @LetsRogerThat released a video showing another option - drilling and tapping directly into the saw for hold down clamps. I'm sure between the various solutions you'll find something that might work for you.

Mick...thanks for the mention of my channel, I like your design as it gives you many options to build other holddowns for items round or square....best, Chuck
Thanks Chuck! And thank you for subscribing, I appreciate it.
Hello Mick,
Looks like a great modification... Well done.
Take care.
Paul,,
Nice modification Mick. That will come in very handy. Cheers 🍻 Aaron
I like that Mick. Project for the future I think!
Cheers Neil
Gday, nice setup Mick, cheers
Nice one Mick. More inspiration to get my bandsaw dialed in and leveraging good ideas like this one.
That is a great design and it works really well. Thanks, I enjoy watching your projects
Very well thought out and done! I think I need to make one. thanks for sharing!
Put your movable jaw back on the saw and you will discover you do not need to screw it on to the saw itself. This allows you to attach work at the bench rather than hunched over the saw and also allows for lateral shift to line up the blade as you can then slide it back and forth. I’ve used these for years on my saws.
That will be useful. For sure.
I love this design. Very versatile and elegant. Well done Mick. And thanks for the plug my friend. Gilles
Love the steering wheel on the mill
It's called a Quill Wheel. It's from Tangent Engineering, I made a video about it. It's nice because it's smaller in diameter than the stock handles so it has better clearance and because it's a solid circle you can grab it anywhere, unlike the stock 3 handles.
Looks good. 👍
Thanks for the channel mention and your build is a success, FYI I have found when clamping (if possible) I set the part against the fence when clamping to negate the forces of the blade pulling the part under the clamp…
Ah, yeah good point. I'll have to start doing that, every little bit helps.
Nice work. Very enjoyable video.
Thank you!
