    Citypop has more complex harmony that demands knowledge of theory to replicate

    I always wondered if Micheal Jackson ever listen to city I know he was bigger than some of the artist but did he ever knew about city pop or ever mix it or sample it he could have made it popular in the states

      And david foster and Jeff porcaro was wrote for mariya takeuchi

      Yes, he worked on a cover of Behind The Mask by Yellow Magic Orchestra, but sadly never finished it. You can find the recently remixed version as well as a demo.

      To be fair, japanese city pop was inspired by Americans (i personally preferred japanese over american when it comes to city pop)

    Yeah, that about covers it. Your choice of going with 3 chords instead of 4 is kinda strange though. There is almost always a vi chord at the end of city pop chord pogressions.

      It's a specific style of playing the bass guitar, that's really common in funk music and its subgenres. Check out this video for a good example from the guy who popularized it: ruclips.net/video/_lIbvj2EBqM/видео.html

      Real instruments will almost always sound better! The human element is such an important factor, I just can't validate buying a new guitar or horns etc in my tiny apartment lol

    U are near a JAPAN City Pop song. But u still have to learn. It sounds like a YMO first try. Drums too dark, bass not on soap and very basic. Finish your job instead giving us Ur first work. Adios beginner 😊
