That mustard got you good. The mustard you get at the restaurants is so powerful compared to the stuff in the plastic packets. I love Chinese food, probably my second favorite behind Thai.
very impressive, rarely see non-chinese eat chicken feet. I am chinese and if you put a plate of chickent feet in front of my family, it wil be gone in less trhan a minute !!!!
The food looked delicious, yum. The portions were large and the selection of various types of Asian food is very unusual in one restaurant. That Bloody Mary, oh ya! Wonder how the soups taste. Love hot and sour! Great New Year’s first review.

I ate there a few weeks back. I had the war-sui-gui it was incredible! I first ate there over 40yrs ago. The food is as good now, as it was then. I am making plans to go back, and have lunch again real soon!
Great review, I was hoping Shawn would try the chicken feet I think I would have. I'm glad you are going back and trying some from a few years ago because a lot you reviewed didn't get a long enough review and they looked really good. Hello Barry! Love pork belly and the hot mustard gets me everytime. I've seen loaded bloody marys before but that one was pretty cool you could use a fork on it! Later Coach and I have my shirt tucked in, Lol!!
Ah, good ole Oriental House. Dan used to love going there for the buffet when they had it. Wasn't large, but a good price and a favorite. Not a bad place to go at all. However, we don't eat " feet" anything 😮. Saw on a yelp review someone gushing over duck feet. Dear Lord.🤦♀️ They gotta be doing something right to stay in business so long. Nice review. Glad they helped you out in your time of need at BHE.❤
Place looks totally legit and I'd love to do one of those bloodys and I would request the bartender to add a jumbo shrimp or prawn to that stick with the pork belly on it 🤠

I admit to being somewhat surprised at seeing a thriving Chinese restaurant in rural Kentucky but we have one in our local town and people say it's good. I've never tried Chinese food but a friend recommended going to a buffet so you can try different things and see what you like. There's a really good country restaurant in a neighboring county that you would really love. It's old fashioned homestyle cooking. Your channel is interesting. Some good locations on here. 🙂
Louisville is not rural, it is the largest city in KY. Also there are good authentic Chinese, Mexican, and other restaurants even in the smaller towns. It is like that in most of the US now.
My family has been eating at The Oriental House since before I was born and we love it! (I’m 44.) They have the best Chinese food in Louisville, in my honest opinion.❤

I can tell that you like Kentucky. Where did you get the Northwest Rangers sweat shirt? That is our local jr college. If you ever come to North Mississippi, try out the Grand Buffet in Horn Lake. Amazing Chinese buffet with sushi and hibachi as well. Be safe!!
I was there my freshman year and played football in 1984-85. It was a football factory back then and turned out some big time players. Several guys went on to the NFL later.

i go to a buffet in the Outer Banks /Nags Head called capt georges,2 plates lol,you ever go vacation on the beach of Nags head go there and will find crab to deserts etc.

My brothers and I used to frequent this place quite a bit. The food was always great, but we haven’t been back for several months now. The owner was being very disrespectful when she tried to move us to another table in the middle of our meals to accommodate another family.
I could destroy a buffet when i was younger,body building etc,5-6 plates no problem lol,now 61 and maybe 2 plates lol,enjoy your variety of foods and you dont leave a nibble for a church mouse lol.Got a friend here in eastern nc,from ky,and hes been to most of your KY visits,good down home cooking.
And while you're here in Mississippi you have to go to Country Catfish at Oakland Mississippi. When you exit I-55 at Oakland take the next right and you're in the parking lot. Nothing but Catfish and sides. Don't expect anything else, not even dessert. Ms. Louise has the best Catfish period. Come and visit, I'll even pay for it.

It’s not Fresh Dim Sim and so many different dishes are missing. I don’t think it has anything to do about East or West. Chinatown in NYC is just like Chinatown in SF

It is a very good quality. I am not saying that there is none better, but I put it up against any of the main Chinatown in the USA. I have eaten at many throughout the USA and it is very solid in comparison. I have eaten less quality in some of the biggest Chinatown areas

Um, not the Oriental House I knew and loved 10-15 years ago looks like. I noticed virtually none of the staff is Asian in this video. Seems odd for a Chinese place. The servers back in the day, were among the best and hardest working. Don't know about now, not fair to judge but again, authentic Chinese cuisine calls for at least some people of Asian backgrounds on your staff. Also the new look, it looks like a strip mall look now. The old look was unique and a throwback to better days. Oh well, nothing stays the same forever. Is what it is.

Of course we didn't see the kitchen staff at OH so, I could be off base. Just seems a different vibe. When I used to go, the staff was mostly Asian but there were white servers too.

The Owner at Oriental House has had it since they purchased the restaurant about 10 years ago. Furthermore, I have eaten Dim Sum in NY Chinatown, Chicago and SanFrancisco Chinatowns, among others and the quality of Dim Sum at both places are on Par to those places. It is very good and authentic. Dim Sum requires a very special and specific skill level to make it correctly.
