Dave also talks about one plant you can plant to attract turkeys that deer wont eat.

We used to have some openers in March here in Tennessee. Then the population and recruitment took a dump and they moved it back a couple weeks to the middle of April and I believe it may end a week earlier. They made some big changes to help turkeys. It was way easier to kill a bird in late March than mid April. Those couple weeks made a difference for a half hearted turkey hunter like myself.
