As a kazuya main who gets decent-good results with him, he's busted and if you are faithful, he's extremely solo mainable until you start playing the sonixs of the world. It helps to get the training mod so you can get better practice for your combos which is the big thing.
I do think you need to have a good mentality with him because some of these mus are *bruh* until you figure out counterplay then it's not so bad. However, the mus mentioned by dabuz are definitely amongst the most annoying for me because often they deal with kazuya's slower jumpsquat being a real issue and exploiting kaz's preference to shield a lot.
If you have a moddable switch, I highly recommed just messing around with kaz. Takes like 15 mins of practice per day to get cleaner movement by the passing hour.

To be fair I think that was pre ferbs tech which opened up a lot of his kit. If it was never discovered Kazuya probably falls down in the tier list
Online is definitely I see kazya all the time
I dedicated time to him for around a whole year and I still couldn't get 0 deaths (every once in a blue moon), and I don't struggle a lot with technical stuff. I can tell you he's not as easy as some people seem to think, and the people who say that are probably talking about mid level locals or wifi.
It's really hard to master him, and there's very few people that even come close to that. Like you said, even Riddles drops combos, imagine everyone else. And then there's actually playing the character and perfectly and fluidly moving around with him, that's even harder.

Maybe it´s because I play Princess Kazuya (Daisy) but I think he is really fun to fight against. xD I mean, yeah, he can kill you with 3 Hits, but so can potentially do Bowser and Pyra for example.
Also I will never forget how Kazuya said to Daisy in a Comic "Stupid ledge-guarding brat!" so yeah, I will use this to my advantage. xD

Also seeing big kazuya mains like riddles and tea eating shit vs steve doesn't make me think kazuya has a good mu vs steve, you probably are just thinking it through. Yeah kazuya can and will one shot most blocks but that doesn't mean he won't be taking 80% for doing it or losing a stock
Because it takes a lot to play him competitively, K. Rool is a character that excels once your two shots down

Electric is not enough, you still gotta learn them combos to exploit each opening or else you get recked
the real reason is because steve exists and is a brain dead version of kazuya, why would you go through the hassle of learning some stick motions and hoping the buffer doesn't screw you over for some 0 to deaths or 90% strings when you can do the same but like 20 times easier just playing steve
Going to get hate on this but terry is better he Kazyua but only when he has Go. The biggest pet peve is mine is no one just lets Go rip in neutral or using buster wolf away to reset neutral. unless it’s a true combo I never see terry players use go like I do even when online too. I mean come on this is a jump out of shield sapming go let a power geyser rip but nope only up tilt power geyser is all I see

As someone who plays FGC characters Kazuya is one of the tougher ones to play.

Terry is definatley the easiest one to learn with Ken being the hardest.
Ken and Kazuya are hard because they are Execution heavy. Ken you literally have to play perfect most of the time or you arent gonna be beating anyone. Mess up a proxy combo or special cancel and your opening just melts away. then you have to rely on ol' reliable (downtilt into dp)
When playing kazuya if you miss a opening specially to a zoner you might as well just spam smash attacks & his reflector lol. Kazuya disadvantage sucks.
I feel Min Min is possible only if she's a secondary like Dabuz is/was. Both Minmains and Only using Min Min for rare bad matchups should have a play style and skill set that legit invalidates Kazuya. The reason being that as a secondary you're not learning the matchup specific approach which matters more for Min Min than other characters.

The optimal way to beat Kazuya is with hit and run tactics and camping. Would you want to deal with that 24/7?

I really, REALLY do not think that Kazuya will rise at all. More like the opposite
Same, he's super linear and obvious. Air camping him is super effective but barely anyone does it. People also need to focus on juggling him over sending him off stage. He has a much harder time landing than getting to ledge and then off of it.
Why do you then pick up and start playing kayuza what’s your reason why you don’t want to pick up kayuza. I can answer for you most smash players aren’t tier whores like leffen especially this late into the game
I’ve started playing this game again around 4 months ago and decided to pick up kazuya after watching some ssbu videos. I can whole heartedly say that I play this character BECAUSE he is tough. I don’t care what anyone says, you can’t tell me a cloud player is trying harder, using more techs, having more dexterity and room for error. Yes, I chose to play the character that makes my fingers hurt about an hour in, but just knowing that I am putting in so much more effort to win than the matchups I lose like Samus or cloud or even duck hunt. Any character than do cloud combos. It takes more than a month JUDT TO GET CONSISTENT ELECTRICS AND YOULL STILL MISS THEN WHEN U NEED IT
It does not take a month to get consistent electrics lmao. It took me like a full day of grinding on elite to consistently get it. And I don't even play the character. Just tried him for fun. And Dabuz is right. He's not fun. Sure the first couple ztds are funny, but after that, not fun at all.

Kind of annoying he spent half the video talking about how kazuya wins matchups most people agree he hard loses, like steve, and just handwaves it with “people will get it in a year or two” as if he’s on the forefront of the kazuya meta. I actually play kazuya, and think he's on the right track. I also believe Kazuya does well into steve. Certain mus are kinda hard, but eventually I he gets a hit in, it suddenly is a winning mu lol
He touched on it very briefly but he makes good points about the Kazuya v Steve matchup - Kazuya one-shots the blocks, and can EWGF through Minecart.
Him failing the Kazuya tech illustrates his point well - Kazuya is a character that requires a lot more dedication than other characters, and to mitigate his core weaknesses (poor mobility chief among them), the player must dedicate a significant amount of time to mastering crouch dashing mechanics, and most players simply don’t want to put that amount of time into something as simple as moving around.
@@kogu1729I would say Steve is more favored in the match up against Kazuya Kazuya can use his electric to beat out minecart, it's pretty risky if the Steve is being less predictable. Kazuya can one hit most blocks but you have to space the moves very well or else you get punished hard. Steve's blocks can also mess up the touch of death combo and just randomly save Steve. Kazuya's recovery is terrible, especially against Steve.
You can convince me the match up is Even but I refuse to believe this match up is winning for Kazuya. Steve is just more consistent and has way more tools to deal with him.
