KJM WDP4D vs BGKT WDP4B ICF Trains "Race" Out of Kadur | 40001 Visits SWR

4 August 2023, Kadur, Karnataka
One of my favourite catches till date. The Hospet - Bangalore Express hauled by an offlink Bhagat ki Kothi WDP4B 40001 departs at the same time as the Yesvantpur - Chikmagalur Express which had a KJM WDP4D in charge.

The Chikmagalur Express undergoes reversal here and hence was routed into platform 2, which also serves as the mainline for the line towards Chikmagalur. With both exits restricted at 30km/h, the dashing 4B in its beautiful livery quickly caught up and both trains ended up exiting their platforms simultaneously.

Kindly excuse my lack of knowledge and my ignorance but when one train is heading towards Bangalore and one coming from Bangalore, they why both racing out of the station towards one direction. I am not pretty much aware of the layout hence I am inquisitive. Kindly enlighten me.
By the way lovely video. Diesel action and ICF rake ans track is nothing short of a bonus nowadays and one of the trains in the video has my native Bellary connection too thus the praise 😊

Thanks. The line towards Chikmagalur starts from the Bangalore end of Kadur station, so the Yesvantpur-Chikmagalur Express has a reversal here. The Hospet-Bangalore Express on the other hand, would of course arrive from the other end and continue straight.

What "blitzering" speed were you expecting from loop lines that are restricted to 30km/h?
