In the acoustic version I feel the pain of the person that is “like a weapon”. In the other version it’s like the person embraces his “weapon” side and is done with everything and everyone. Both of them express different feelings, at least for me.

I absolutely love how Chrissy is singing under the rain (?) While Dan and Will is projected in the background with subtle flames flickering on their forms then gradually vanishes throughout the song.

I've been listening to this song on repeat for the last 2 hours, and I can't help but hear how the original sounds like Chrissy's letting out her anger and rage, and then the acoustic sounds like she's letting out her pain and sorrows. As a girl who does nothing but listen to music and write stories all day, these two would make incredible beginning and ending themes for a story that I would love to write!

finding this 2 years later as a fellow writer who imagines whole worlds and characters through music as well, this touched me and I wanna add my own poc: the original is where the character starts, this is the ending, looking back, a bittersweet ending. They've lost, it hurts, but the anger has given away to knowledge of themselves, accepting the pain and using it for power, to move forward.
Chrissy is truly one of the best vocalists of this generation. Dan and Will are equally as impressive. I don't understand how they aren't more popular

The acoustic version is the opposite of the original version and indeed there is no fire but WATER. They're are such amazing in these details. The acoustic versions have this light blue/green on the background that is the opposite of the dark red of the rock versions. WOW!

Indeed, I however still struggle to hear the word "boiling". I don't know it doesn't even remotely sound like it. Was this ever addressed by them? Like is it intentional or just a minor mistake?

@@victos-vertex it’s because when /l/ is the ending consonant, you’ll kinda have an extra half syllable for it. Boil will sound like boy-yel if slowly pronounced. And in this song, boiling gets tricker as it’ll have to be rhythmically synced so you’ll hear like 3 syllables: boy-yel-ling. An explanation from a non-native speaker but hope this helps.

Holy crap that was so clean and so good. There’s seriously nothing better than acoustic pop punk songs, especially acoustic ATC songs. I LOVE that guitar. And the strings in the background add a really nice atmosphere. And of course, Chrissy’s voice was perfect. Really excited for the new album!

This song truly speaks to me. I just got out of a toxic relationship, that I was in for 5 years. It’s funny, some relationships you don’t realize are toxic, because you’ve been in them so long. Walking on eggshells just becomes apart of your personality, which kills the conversations, and kills who you are. It’s when you wake up, realize who you were, are, still am. That’s when you become the weapon you need to be, and start fighting for yourself. Even if you end up alone. You still have, yourself.

Her voice gives me chills. Her ability to sing a line, then sing the same line but take the intensity up a notch is truly outstanding. Ironically it reminds me of how bad most rap is. It's impossible to gabble and add actual feeling, resulting in words without conviction. But ATC always value quality over quantity.
