Consistency in buying/selling/trading is key with all things so you're in at the top and bottom of the market to get to a nice "average" as a whole. Great video and we hope to add more silver age books yet this year! 🔥🚀
The market has essentially stabilized for many silver age grails like AF#15. There will always be fluctuations as auction prices are up and down from sale to sale, but the historical trend has always been upward for these keys over time.
Agreed that prior to 2021, the market was behaving like you said. But now we're going on almost two years of AF15 on the decline. If it continues to inch closer to 2020 prices, at what point would you say the market hasn't stabilized?
AF15 sold, in a 5.0, for nearly 90K in 2022. Last one sold a few months back for under 40K. And it's not worth more than 10K. The vast majority of these books are owned by SPECULATORS who LAUGH at people who read comics. A year from now you will get this book and grade for under 20K if not less in all likelihood. But...durrrrrr....it's a first appearance! durrrrrrr
If people did this with houses by following week after week if their house was growing in prices or falling the whole market would be in panic. Comics are collectibles not stocks.
Yeah housing prices don't change nearly as fast as stocks and collectibles. Wouldn't make sense to track on a monthly basis. But most comic collectors are very interested in how their books are changing in value...as well as how the next book their chasing is changing in value.
Prob is their focusing on the their books week to week like penny stocks and worrying why it’s not growing month to month a horrible way to be involved in the hobby. Instead buy it for why you want it and hold long term like any stock or SNP 500.. If it makes you money is one thing if your only buying to make money your buying the wrong books then and focus on scarcer rare golden age ones
@2hugebros241 You're telling people that they should do what YOU think is right and not to do what they want. Many people enjoy collecting for the excitement of possible rise in value or quick flips. None of us should be telling them that's wrong. We should all do what we like.
These are going to keep going down for a while incrementally, times are tough out there and disposable income is dwindling. And I dare say that these comics seem to be popping up more frequently in lower grades - too bad IG sales are not being recorded, comics on that platform seem to sell for lower than what's being reported. Higher grades I think will hold on to their value.
Yes, lots of sales on IG being left out of the data. Unfortunately, I don't see that changing anytime soon...until they launch a marketplace. Agree with your disposable income comment as well. It's not what it used to be. Thanks for watching.
Hey, just to let you know I have spoke about this before but I have a copy of amazing fantasy 15 6.0 no marvel chipping presents much better than the grade I know the fair market value is only $75,000. I was offered $100,000 for this book in October at the Jacob Javits Center, New York City comic con. I’m not selling it he was going to overpay me.. just to let you know. Some books are going way up.. how about the first appearance of the green goblin amazing Spider-Man 14 9.6 the fair market value $35,000 that just sold Comic Link $50,000. X-Men.1 of course that bounced back I have a 7.0 one of those just sold on eBay for $40,000.. listen not everything is going down.
@@raleighcomicbookcollector yes, this is Bob and Connecticut. I am on Instagram only because automatic comics Ryan told me he loved my comments on RUclips and if I go on Instagram to give him my information he would give me a copy of the amazing Spider-Man 238 which I got that’s how I ended up on Instagram. It’s funny I am new and I have almost 5000 followers. I don’t know why the only thing I put on my profile is a picture of me and that I love Comic Books and I have lots of New York Yankee tickets every year.. the people that follow me are extremely beautiful women in their 20s some in their early 30s which is a shock because I am much older. My comment was if you really watch everything what’s going on there are lots of comic books still going up significantly.
I mention that X-Men 1 sale in my video. Very suspicious sale. Of course not every grade is going down with every sale, but when you look across all grades of almost any book, the trend is still clearly down.
@@rhmidwestcomics good morning anyway things kind of really suck but it doesn’t matter because I’m not selling the few good books I have left. I still have my Batman 1 5.0 restored fantastic four 48 9.6 amazing Spider-Man 1 6.5 amazing fantasy, 15 6.0 amazing fantasy, 15 8.0 restored no trimming tales of suspense 39 8.5 X-Men 1 7.0 . Yes, we all know things have been coming down quite a bit just a couple of years ago during Covid Comic Link sold tales of suspense 39 8.5 $120,000 and another copy for $99,000. Anyway, my X-Men I got that many years ago raw for only $300.. yes that was a $60,000 book not that long ago 7.0.. that doesn’t matter to me because I live alone I go to lots of New York Yankee games every year I don’t work. My last girlfriend made a lot of movies she passed away, so I have no responsibilities so I really don’t care..
Appreciate your comment, but you are basically saying that true collectors can't have an opinion on the value of a book. Don't you think that's a little short-sighted?
@@rhmidwestcomics Do you think a true collector would diminish the importance of a book like ASM 1? Isn't ASM 1 no different than Superman 1, 1st comic devoted to the superheroes. Do you also feel Superman 1 is an over appreciated book, or Green Lantern 1? Why just ASM 1? Does a book really need to have key first appearances to you to be considered warranted enough to equal their value? Seems like you just have a weird opinion to diminish the importance of ASM 1.
This is a Silver Age video, so I'm not discussing Golden Age books like Superman 1. But since you mentioned it, I think it's very difficult to compare ASM 1 and Superman 1, because Superman 1 is much more rare than ASM1, but I agree the importance is similar because there's no real introduction of major characters or storylines. I also agree that first appearances are not the only thing that drives the value of a book. It's also stories, cover art, scarcity, condition, artists, etc. Doesn't mean that just because I'm surprised by the value of a book makes me less of a collector. I have many friends that are collectors and we debate values of key issues all the time...and we enjoy doing that. What makes your opinion the only opinion that matters for "true" collectors?
@@rhmidwestcomics My opinion matters the most because I think it makes more sense. Some additional examples, Caliber Presents #1 vs The Crow #1. Even though the Crow #1 isn't his first app, it actually sells for more. Another good book that you may feel is overpriced like ASM 1 is maybe Justice League #1? Not their first app like BB28.
@Comicbookyoutubersrock I value all opinions, but for you to say your option matters more because you think you make more sense, will just make people cast your opinions and comments off to the side. Always willing to have a fun discussion, but not interested in doing that with people who feel they are superior to those that have a different opinion. Not what this hobby needs.
Just discovered this channel on my feed and just subscribed. Love the market report.
Thank you. 🙌

Hadn't seen your pricing videos before. Good stuff!

I enjoy doing them. Thanks for watching.
Agree with everything you said. This market will continue to drop.

Great analysis. Thanks!
Glad you liked it!

Well, I’m selling one of my comic books, because I want to get dodge challenger
Great car!
It's got a bad track record, this engine will throw a rod if you keep pushing the engine.
Well, it’s a great time to fill runs 🤷🏻♀️😂
Absolutely!
That Hulk 1(at a graded 7.5) had a recent sale of over $ 80,000. I think you reported on that.
Yes, I believe that sale was all the way back in January. 84k.

Did I leave something out of the video? If you can give me a time stamp, I can figure out what I was trying to say.
What grade is Asm #1 that represents your graph?

If you’re trying to make an argument that ASM 1 shouldn’t be as big as it is, then you’re not a true collector.
