Thanks! Didn't even know what the thing was; I just happened to see it on the floor after reassembling my drill. As another commenter noted, the parts diagram made it look like it went somewhere on the top around the speed switch. Just ordered a replacement LED light assembly from you guys. Thanks for the informative content!
Me like many others had this mysterious piece fall out when I went to clean my drill of dust. I looked and looked to see where it could fit. I did find a spot where it tucked in nicely but it wasn't where you show ;). Anyways thanks so much for this video and it solved my mystery and has me back to drilling again. Cheers!!
Thank you so much sir I opend the housing and the leaf spring fell out and didn't know where it cane from, had tough time trying to find its place both manually and from the Internet, and failed miserably, until I found your video. Grateful to you sir.
Lifesaver, spring fell out of the case while cleaning it. Couldnt figure out what it was. Lost it, had to buy a new one, now replaced it effortlessly. With the new brushless drills it's even easier.,
It worked for me on a DF030D (or FD02W) which has an identical looking leaf spring but with a part number of 232239-9. Maybe a more generic title without the word hammer would make it easier for people, since it's the same on non-hammer drills with a leaf spring that looks like that one.
i took my driller to repair but the man who repair forget the that little metal today i check for job but the machine is too weak here kenya we dont have expert repairs
I know this is an old video, but it was EXACTLY what I was looking for! I couldn't figure out where the spring goes. Thank you!!
All I needed was the first 30 sec.
Thanks
Thanks buddy! I was going crazy after it fell out replacing another part and i couldn't figure out where it goes.
Me too! Couldn't believe there's a video on it specifically. awesome!
Thank you for your bets video. Long time I could not find actual position of leaf spring in my screw driver.

Hi John, I would suggest contacting Makita factory service center, and ask them to email you the wiring diagram for your model number.
Did you find out where it goes as I’m looking for the same answer?!
Thank you man! Much appreciated
THANK YOU

Why did you have to call us out about the leaf spring, of course we don't know where it goes 😂
