I retired from a big city PD in California. We have a full time SWAT team and at one point they had tryouts. One copper applied made it to the finals and the oral board. He told them that he had been a Navy Seal (he was in Navy but a diver not a seal/first time anyone had heard him say this). One SWAT guy on the board suspected this and demanded applicants DD214. Applicant had a change of mind withdrew from process but became instructor at police academy.

New sub here. Enjoying your content. Thank you.
Quick question, I've got a roommate who said he was with special forces. His mos was 42 alpha. Said he'd go on missions with them and was shot by sniper fire in his chest plate. He cleared buildings with them etc. Doesn't sound right to me. I just don't see how highly trained men who go through specific training are or would use regular army mos guys to clear buildings with that have not trained the way they have. Am I wrong or is this something a 42 alpha could do with team guys
