I've watched many other versions, but the heart of this piece is the intro, and this woman plays that part

D Ashworth, I had to re-upload the video because of a title error at the end. To reply to your comment on the previous video, this is Dionisio Aguado's arrangement of Grand Solo, that's why the notes are different. He has a lot more arpeggios, which makes it sound more exciting.

When I hear this piece on the Grand Solo CD while I`m on the freeway, I am transported (but I manage to keep my mind on my driving.) Then I watch you play it on RUclips and my mind is on nothing else but you and your music. You are the best.

I wasn't aware of this Sor composition... It's virtuosic, and therefore needs to be heard a few times to enjoy it. This recording is so well balanced, and the guitar so clear in low and high ranges.
Of course, i hear music with headphones. Don't try to listen with just a Smartphone's tiny speaker. In some environments i use simple noise-cancelling headphones. It shields me from the murmur of noisy modern life (including some random noises some call 'music")... Thanks

Taso saromonte thank you! The guitar is made by Jean Rompre, he's a Canadian maker. It's has a carved back and double sided. Cedar soundboard and Mun Ebony back and sides.

Love this interpretation of one of my favourite pieces. Some famous rock guitarist said that classical music was”too restrictive”. That maybe so for lesser talents but this is superbly done and compares very favourably with my lifetime favourite guitarist Bream.
She reminds me of Bream too. An extraordinary musician.

I heard that Sor (Fernando) made standard the 6th string of the guitar. I meet a gig guitarist that used a 10-string guitar (no doubled strings or in octaves).... I guess Narciso Yepes tried that way, but i never liked it because of the sympathetic vibrations that cannot be avoided. He was into playing everything super fast.... Well, i can speed-up any recording... And computers can"play" faster, so that style died... The 6-stringed stayed, and was taken to the American continent where it simmered in relative isolation for centuries... That's how folklore is formed (by societies, not just one composer, though we give the composer and the interpreter some of the credit).

Sor is Beethoven in classical guitar world and Grand Solo by Sor is just the position likes symphony 9 by Beethoven in classical music.
Very good interpretation, but I think it would help if you did not move the right hand as much. Too much free stroke. Sor did not have nails, I think that he may have used rest strokes without nails?
Opening movement was played a little too slowly for my taste - if it's too slow, it doesn't hang together so well IMO - but the main theme was played very nicely. I listened through right to the end, I frequently don't do that when listening to classical guitarists as I think many of them have shallow interpretation, but this was enjoyable all the way. Haven't heard the Aguado arrangement before either and he clearly brought an extra dimension to the original! Thank you.
