Apreciate the kind words bro ✌️, we're just 2 guys that started a YT channel a few months ago, so honestly we're quite clueless to all of this. We just have 1 rule and that is to make stuff we find fun ourselves, bad humour and all 😅😅🫡
I like the boardroom, it looks like a good place to get drunk and think of something stupid for the car. 🍺 Scanning the dashboard to get it to fit perfectly was insane for me. Now, making a new fuse box for the rollcage is awesome. Great job guys, awesome. Usually when we do something here, it usually involves a cutting disc, welding and spray paint, and the Russian song "Trust me, I'm an engineer"🧑🔧🧑🔧
G the boardroom has gotten its fair share of usage 😅😅😅. And as you can see, my first thought was also the cutting disc....old habbits 🤣🤣🤣. But.....we are evolving...sometimes.😅
@@GRAUSLICK It really was very good, OEM level. I'm thinking about learning how to use these new tools, 3D scan, 3D printer, but it's at another level of learning, and probably if I learn how to use this, I'll definitely lose control and want to do everything. lol
Really enjoy the content! The scanner, cad and the results is always fun to watch. Fuse box looks great! I ended up grabbing the same scanner thanks to the content you guys shared. Thank you
No man, thank you 🫡. All the comments. Involvement and feedback is why we make these videos. Out of curiousity, what are you gonna use the scanner for?
@@GRAUSLICKmainly for product development when I have time 😅 and just providing my customers with a product that fits close to perfect. My first project with it is going to build a cage in an s15. I normally just bend and notch myself, but I figured since I have the scanner I would challenge myself and try to build the whole cage in cad. I need to spend some more time in solidworks, but doesn’t seem that challenging regardless.
@@Centerlinemsoh wow, modeling the entire cage would be next level...however you can archieve next level fitment that way....maybe if you can find a company with a 3D tube bender/laser you can do the entire cage that way. That would be insane
@@djes.36 I have a buddy that has a tube cutter and bender, but I feel if I can just get it cut/pre notched, bend lines marked and I bend it myself it would be fine. I know the first time doing it will take a ton more time compared to building it how I normally do.
'Technically it's not my fault' - the guy who is 100% at fault, always xD Jokes aside, the build quality, attention to detail and video quality are awesome! Can't wait to see the car on track at some point (unless you do another oil change that escalates slightly).

Yet another episode of enjoyment! I'm thinkin about buying a 3d scanner now and learning how to model. By the way, I don't know if you know. Since you really wanna tidy things up with the cage, some people use rubber gromets on the dashboard to seal the hole with the cage and the dash. Thought it might be useful. Already waiting on next weeks video! 🤩
Modeling is quite fun! We use Fusion 360, tons of free tutorials out there and its free for personal use wink wink. I'm hoping to get away without grommets or anything, but we'll keep that in mind in case we f up 😆
doing things right at first is too boring, the fun part is spending 3 extra days because we tried to save 5 minutes another good video, keep it going guys!
Better late then never! We tried a new way of shooting the video, (something called Slog) but instead of the usual 20m rendering time, it now took 10+ hours to render. Bit difficult when we always do everything at the last minute 🤣
@@GRAUSLICK haha, see it like this, today was a great surprise! 😎 awesome project to follow. Great dedication to! Also financially (the blue envelope).😅
Funny my search engine history is quite similar to yours although I think we were looking for differnet things when we typed in... 3D Model & Red Tube 🤣🤣
Awesome Car. I love everything about your project and the little details. I have one question. What battery cable clip is this and what size has the cable? Thanks!
I dont recall the exact size I used, but again thats very dependant on the lengt and amparage thats going to be on the cable. I used a bit thinner cable because it's a stripped out car without much electric functions such as radio, powered windows etc. The connector itself is a Amphenol Industrial connector , specificly their SurLok series. Its a bit tricky to find the correct set of matching ones, but they're not expensive and well worth it! You do need a big hydraulic crimper for it (dont tell anyone I bought mine for 30 bucks off aliexpress). Good luck! 😁😁
Hey! We used ASA for printing. Was decent enough and should be OK for the engine bay temps. Maybe next time we'll use some different changed on the design to make it sturdier instead of copying the original which was designed for simple injection molding plastic. The glue used is 3M 2-component epoxy specifically for plastics. But I think any 2 component epoxy glue would work just fine 😁
I think it's calles RadLok or something like that, not sure which one exactly....there are soooo many options. Think I ordered it from Mouser (big component webshop)
Because money 🤣🤣🤣. It wont bring any benefits right now besides that its more minimal, but its gonna cost at least 5k and much more work. So for now. This is fine😁
Good question! The carpet hides a TON of parts of junk, making everything look much neater, without it you also need to make/buy footrests etc. And the carpet also keeps out quite a bit of heat from the engine/transmission/exhaust. So for this specific car I think its the right choice. 😁
