    Best driving I've seen on youtube for buttonwillow. That's how its done.

    Great driving. I hope to hit 1:53 there soon in two weeks! Running on with lots of aero and on street tires… gonna have to carry a lot of speed

      Thanks. Yeah Buttonwillow is very challenging because it has so many features that don’t have clear paths. And now the pavement is getting rougher. Plus you gotta learn which berms to attack and which berms to stay away from. Have fun out there! I’ll be back out there Dec 17/18.

      Thanks! Buttonwillow is one of those tracks where I never get bored driving it. So much technical stuff to try to get right.

    Fastest time I could find on RUclips for e92 m3 at this track

      This lap was run in 2018. As far as I know, no one on the E9x M3 platform has done better. But someone has a new E90 build that should beat it. Will be fun to see what happens.

    Have you ever considered racing? I attended NASA's competition licensing school this weekend at Buttonwillow, and after a taste of racing, time trialing, while great as a skill set, may be even more fun when placed in the context of multiple cars. (Of course there are major downsides too...)

    • @7speedM

      I was there this weekend too on Saturday! I competed in TT. Ran a 1:52 with the car having issues. I don’t race wheel to wheel. But I frequently compete in time attack with Global Time Attack SuperLap battle, NASA, SCCA, PCA time trials, Speed Ventures Bimmer Challenge, etc.

    What software do you use for overlay? I’m guessing your also using a aim solo?

    • @7speedM
      @7speedM  6 лет назад +1

      2004dsgmach1 Race Render is the [Mac or Windows] app that allows you to create gauges and overlay them onto video. The AIM Solo 2 DL provides the data via CSV export. It takes a bit of time to create a template, but I find the end result to be worth the effort.

    Is the car setup to understeer a lot?

    • @7speedM
      @7speedM  5 лет назад +9

      SaksriAble Sresangnum At high speeds, the car tends to understeer a bit due to the full aero (67” wing) and a front-heavy weight balance. At low speeds when the aero isn’t doing much, the car could tend to oversteer due to supercharged power and a gutted/lightened rear. But understeer/oversteer can be managed by driving style to a large extent. How one approaches a corner can have a big effect on the car’s understeer/oversteer behavior.

      @@michaelquigley9719 This video is from 2018. The car is setup quite differently now---different aero, different suspension, different spring rates, different alignment settings. I haven't had a chance to do this configuration with this car setup in good weather yet. Looking forward to it.

      @@7speedM Is there a spec sheet/modification list of the car? That is a damn quick time.

    • @7speedM
      @7speedM  6 лет назад +2

      @@maxymillion7480 Thanks. The car is highly modified. It just won the 2018 Bimmer Challenge time trial series in CA. Won 7 of 7 events. This build thread lists all the mods in the first post: www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1158445 (You need to scroll down a bit.) This is my current fast lap (as of Jan, '19), but unfortunately, on this lap, the car had a shifting problem going into the last corner. The DCT shifted by itself up to 6th gear, and I struggled to get it back into 3rd gear exiting the last corner......lost a 1:46.
