@Lisa Mathis . Ohhhhh, to be connecting with a Mt. Paran person, online ! You will never ever know how thrilled I am, Lisa. I long for the old days when we had a choir……..a full-fledged choir ! I have bunches and bunches of the videos with our choir singing, and I just HAVE to keep going back to play them over and over. Truth be told…….music is how…..I……personally get ministered to. ❤️
@Lisa Mathis LOL, Lisa. I have been a member for 48 years and have not seen those doors yet ! Because of some grief I was experiencing over 20 years ago, I decided to change over to North. When I started going to MP, it was back in the day when lots of folks from the original church ( Hemphill from downtown ) were still living. You could spot them a mile off. Dresses……no jewelry……..hair in buns………rare smiles, but very sweet……..and as typically COG folks were, very legalistic. Dr. Walker chose to break those old habits and did…….working his way upward to becoming General Overseer for the world. I think now there are maybe 2-3 of the old folks from Hemphill left, but the rest are living with Jesus. I was there when Dr. Walker’s son Mark was dating, as a teen, even, and when God tapped him on his shoulder to call him to ministry. And of course when Paul Dana died. My love for MP has not changed thru the years and because of Dr. Walker’s diligence in keeping us up with Prophecy…….I can hold my own with Prophecy teachers on the internet.
However, that is my only disappointment. Solid prophecy teaching at MP is LONG gone. ❤️
