The "Big Brother" confession to Maggie is genuinely brilliant acting. In fact, across all his comedies, Gervais does heartbreak and desperation as convincingly as any actor I've ever watched.
It's a bit of a revelation really.
Totally agree. He doesn't get knowhere near enough credit for his serious acting. The way he portrays heartbreaking moments in afterlife he acts so well, it feels real.
This guy is class. Entire family are now watching this fella. Reliving classic comedy with added humour. Great channel.
He’s genuinely helped me thru 4 bloody lockdowns. Laughter is a vax.

Whatever people think of Gervais (love him, but some don't), you can't ignore that his comedy is well thought out and has a big heart.

I remember loving this so much when it aired. Perfect. Bang on message. And as ever, Maggie is just the best person. Funny how the celebrity scene has only got worse since.

Glad you enjoyed this mate. It was near perfect. I think you can tell - once you see past his exterior, and listening to him in some interviews for example - that Ricky has a big heart when it comes to certain things. It shows in this finale.
Gervais combines a masterfully quick wit with a deep understanding of the human condition with its foibles, ego, contradictions, and vulnerabilities. Great reactions!

Only the worthy in the world of comedy can make you laugh. Cry. Laugh again .. feel uncomfortable and then laugh once more . all this in just one scene.. Only the true legends can do this. Gervais has it down to an art... Derek. His best work.. amazing...

loved extras, i wish it was longer. I'd suggest maybe look into life's too short (written by Gervais and Merchant) starring Warwick Davis. It's a bit like extras as it has in different stars like Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, Liam Neeson etc... It's pretty good too

What a top notch fantastic series. Only thing it’s missing is way more episodes. Check out “life’s too short” it’s Ricky and Steve’s last coproduction and it’s brilliant in my view, so funny.

The Life’s Too Short special was great too, Barry, Keith and Les were amazing together.

This wasn't a 80 min film,but rather two 40/45 minutes episodes.
That was great x I'll never watch this episode with anyone else because I always find it emotional. Similarly the final Office episode is in the same jest. Super reaction x

Try watching after life, this is not a comedy but shows Ricky, s acting abilities. Not so much as a reaction video but just worth watching the series
