Dear Kayla, as someone from the northern US … it’s actually quite normal to sit outside and read/chill/have drinks when there’s snow on the ground (you just remove the snow from the furniture covers)

It’s actually super realistic- most people don’t change their whole house for Christmas/winter, just sprucing up the place with wintertime accents. It makes sense for the green/blue color scheme as a base with the addition of quilts, snow globes, candles, and stuff like that!

To be honest, I could never imagine living in a place that never has real seasons. I love the changes of the season. How after a hot summer with long summer evenings (it gets dark around 10:30 here) you get into fall, less heat and then winterwonderland. Candles, early dark (4:00) coming into a warm house after a freezing day outside. And then when you're done with winter it starts warming up for spring again, trees grow leaves again, everything gets a pop of color, no more wintercoat and just ease into summer... And just repeat that cycle. Having just one season sounds so boring :D

Building in the Sims (doing it well) takes a while for all of us - I’ve played the Sims since The Sims on PS2 and every new Sims game makes the building experience different. If you look back at videos from Kayla and James Turner and Plumbella (and many more) from when TS4 first came out, the builds are SO different (and objectively less good). Keep playing and enjoying the game 👍🏻

Its why I love the PACK so much - it's quite realistic. However, having been to Florida a few times over the years during mar/apr it's funny how differently accustomed people are to temperatures; the AMOUNT of times my parents would be berated for not 'dressing us properly' when we were outside, especially at night, was just endless. BUT would stop when my parents would say "we're Canadian."

So even in a country where snow is one of the first things you associate with winter, white christmas is little miracle. Snow in general, honestly. A friend of mine who lives in Indiana (a very wintery state) says that one of the things people need to survive the grey & white colorless blahs of winter landscape is at least a few spots of saturated color inside. It might be fun to do a house where every room has an accent wall and some complementary but still strongly contrasting colors, and set that in a wintery landscape. (Artwork on the walls can count for pops of color, not just furniture.)

Born and raised in Florida, spent the last decade in Tennessee/Kentucky. Growing up I hated the cold, took a sweater everywhere type. What little cold it gets here is wonderful and I will probably not go back to Florida even though I miss the beach.

As someone who lives where we just had a couple -41°C days (-41.8F) and winter lasts pretty much 6 months, I'd very much enjoy a palm tree Christmas one day lol. But I don't think I could ever give winter up on the days of sparkling snow and hoarfrosted trees. Just the week of Christmas though then I'm over it!

I've be down for a summer christmas build or a house to celebrate New years in the summer. Here at least they resemble more what your 4th of July celebrations are like. Sure, white christmases have their charm but I don't dislike our holidays in the summer at all. Maybe the best deal would be a white Christmas but a summer New Year.

I would love cold snowy winters, if humans sorta hibernated for the winter lmao. If I could stay inside my house all warm and cozy and only go outside for short periods of time, I would love it. But I work in an old cold as heck building so that’s about all I can say for that.

That's a really hot summer day where I live. (Every once in a while we have 95 F for a couple of days). Right now it's about 30 F and it's snowing. I already miss summer.

5:37 i had a "sims" moment on thanksgiving. i caught myself on fire (kinda) getting my smoker ready for the turkey. i had to lift my charcoal chimney over my head to see if my lighter was working and ended up dropping a burning piece of tumbleweed onto my beard and down my shirt. singed my beard and chest hair a little. nothing crazy just realized i was "on fire" and patted myself really quick.

Personally, I'd like to live somewhere that's 15-20°C (roughly 60-70°F) year round. I think that's my ideal temperature. But I can't deny the appeal of cozy winter vibes! 😁

Born and raised in the midwest. I get it, I get tired of it being hot. Especially since Minnesota/Iowa can get really humid. I've visited Florida, the humidity sucks. In addition having actual changes in seasons is nice. The issue with winter is a lack of light, a lack of vitamin D and yeah, being constantly cold can suck. But I also really enjoy winter when the temp is about 20 degrees and not windy.
