I just wanna tell you my favorite story about Yeltsen. He somewhere mentioned that he lost his fingers with such way. When he was a child, he got into a military warehouse, with was fenced with 3 rows of barbed wire, and stole a couple of grenades. Then his friends and he decided to disassemble those grenades ... by a hammer. That's how Boris lost his fingers.

Not a policeman, a military orchestra conductor. The context: the East Germany contingent of the Russian Army was finally leaving German soil for good (the funds have run out, Germany helped with relocation costs). Boris Yeltsin made the trip to speak to the soldiers and officers, "fueled up" afterwards, and decided that he can and should conduct a military orchestra that was accompanying the ceremonial lowering of the flag and troops leaving.

    Year after year,
    Rastut bal'shiye garada
    The large cities are growing
    Vsyo dlya naroda!
Everything is available for the people!
[A communist motto. Also, cf. the 1980s USSR prohibition law]
    V lyuboye vremya goda
At any time of the year
    Nam na vstrechu
    Up to meet us
    Vstayot vilikaya strana

    Tak, "Dobryy vecher!"
    So, "Good evening!"

    "Greetings from Great Hangover!"
    My rady vstrechi
    We're glad to meet you
    No yesli kto-ta nizdarov,
    But if somebody is unwell
[Might be a reference to "Unfortunately, my friend, comrade Gorbachev's bad health prevens him from occupying the office..." as the pretext for the 1991 coup]
    Tak ya atvechu
    Well, let me say this
    Shto my biz daktarov
That we don't need no doctors
    Balezni lechim
    Here, we heal all ails
    Bakakam dobrava vina!
With a cup of strong wine!
    Tak, "Dobryy vecher!"
    So, "Good evening!"
    "Privet s Bal'shova Baduna!"
    "Greetings from Great Hangover!"
    A na rassveti,
    And at dawn,
    Vsyo slyshen zvon gitarnyh strun
You can still hear the ringing of guitar's strings
    A svejiy veter
    And the fresh wind
    Raznosit pa planeti
    Scatters all around the planet
    Pesni eti
    These songs
[Possibly, a cliche from the communist era propaganda songs,- now used in a humorous way]
    Payot i belyy i chugun
Sings man both white and "cast-iron" one
    Nyet na sveti
No better place in the world
    Prikrasniy gorada Badun!
    Than our little town Hangover!
    "Privet s Bal'shova Baduna!"
    "Greetings from Great Hangover!"
Diskleymer: da Rashen tekst iz ritten pyoli fanetikeli. It dazynt karispand tu da gramatikeli korekt Rashen tekst wich iz den ritten wid Latin leddaz
The song title Greater Hangover or Big Hangover, or Major Hangover, sounds like a typical name of a town, and it implies that there's also a town called Little Hangover nearby 🙃
