I've stopped promising specific dates or timelines, as the one time I did people got really upset :( But a lot of the work is actually already done! So the wait shouldn't be too crazy
As someone who grew up loving indie games and SSF2, Fraymakers seems like a true celebration of everything I loved in my childhood (Plus, it's got my boy Octodad!)
This team has proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that they are capable, and will deliver a quality product! In that regard, it may be the least risky Kickstarter ever run? Well worth it imo
Presumably people can lift the sprites straight from SSF2, rework it in Fraytools, and boom! Goku will be available within like a week of the game being live
Bless you Graeme, this personally means a lot to me. Found SSF1 back in the day, and although it was janky even back then, I loved it all the same and still follow MG and SSF2 to this day. This makes me teary-eyed Here's hoping for Fraymakers's successful release, and cheers to Greg and the crew!
you know every time i think of games being bad or not being like the "good ole days" i see one of you videos in my recommended and realize/remember that gaming isn`t bad or gone downhill. its just that the good stuff and popular stuff aren't the same sometimes with some exceptions. thank you for making this video.
This is my childhood. i remeber playing ssf2 with my two brothers on our hot ass pc with like 10 fps but it was a blast. thx two left thumps for this nistolgia touching vid
This was such a great video on the topic. I remember learning about SSF2 out of the blue when searching about smash on google. The version I started on was 0.9a. I remember the 3 year long wait for beta as well. (The "When's beta?" meme still hasn't gone away lol.) Because of how much I love the game, I made a few edited video on it in the following years. And well, here I am, actually supporting the team on Fraymakers. Can't wait to see where they will go with all of this. Plus, with how open Fraymakers will be, and FrayTools being a thing, I think I'll be able to have an easier time working on edited videos on the game. Thinking about it is so exciting. Thank youu~ McleodGaming!!! (Also, Hatkid for Fraymakers! I need my baby.)
I remember playing this game as a kid. I was obssessed with Smash Brothers and I played this like a madman. Unfortunately I had no controller or people to play with, so I stopped. I am so glad the creator(s) continued doing what they loved. I find so much beauty and heart and integrity in this game. It's like a little gem in a small corner of the Internet that matters much to the people who play it. Thank you for this video :)
Watching your interviews are great! Love the structure of them, giving out the history, then adding the comments of the developers, and also the questions and answers (as this is an interview after all). Such a fun watch everytime!
Ah, that's great to hear! It's a fairly iterative process, and I'm always fine tuning it as best I can. I hope that it stands out as uniquely informative! That's the goal really :)
Fraymakers looks promising and I can't wait what is coming next from now. I played Super Smash Flash 2 and it was a fun experience. Some people from the dev team makes me expecting more and hype. Thank you for your support and hope more people gets interested in the project!
So your telling me that Nintendo who are known for hating there fans are letting the people who made smash flash 1 and smash flash 2 have a game on the ehop
I really love Ssf2, I have probably spent over 400 hours just playing against cpu cuz my laptop is shit but I still find enjoyment. Thanks for making this game

Great video. I loved SSF and Backed this as soon as I heard about it. So many hours of fun and entertainment from SSF1 and 2. Was awesome to see some good coverage on it. Subscribed!
I wish i had gotten into flash games more back in like 2016-2017 but sadly i lacked my own pc to actually do stuff on it. Still one of my all time most requested characters was in Smash Flash 2 (as well as Crusade) and that is Krystal. Sure shes an assist trophy in ult but i feel they need to make her a fighter just because of not only how popular she was but also her diversity in weaponry because we see her staff but in later games i believe in assault she uses various guns. Even in smash flash 2 she uses a sniper rifle AND grenades from Assault which is a nice touch
I'm so glad I saw this, I might have never heard of fraymakers if I didn't, I can't donate to it but it still looks really good, I would definitely play it even though I only know fancy pants man, and octodad

I randomly found SSF one day many years ago, and years later randomly found the sequel. Both are enjoyable but it's obvious the sequel is better, at least to me anyways. Thanks for this, it was really enjoyable learning about the history of the SSF games, and good luck to Mcleod and his team going forward.
I feel like you could of gone in at least some detail about his other flash projects, especially Yeah Jam Fury, that was pretty important it was barely touched upon. Super solid video overall, love learning more about one of my favorite developers!
It was really only through the interview that I learned about its importance to both Greg's growth as a programmer and designer, as well as how it in turn affected SSF. Definitely wish I could go back and ask some more questions and expand on that
Super smash flash is dope af i been playing it since it was ever dropped and i always found myself coming back to it each and every time for years gotta love and respect The creator for it

Slightly off topic. Fancy pants is so sick. Also I feel like the concern of a small roster is a bit strange. Rivals only had 4 characters at launch. So I'm pretty happy with 9
Im real hyped for Fraymakers as I'm a backer, but I'd still say Indie Pogo is a definitive Indie Smash experience. The game has a solid gameplay, consistent art style, great movesets, charm, and faithfulness to the source material.
With all this nintendo drama going on i was thinking: “who could make a game like that had full movesets and cool characters that i might know?” Then i woke up and saw fraymakers by the one and only
It's mindblowing just how far these games have come since their inception. Seeing the gradual evolution of SSF2 throughout this video alone has really put into perspective just how big the whole thing was and just how much more polished it got over the years. I'm really sad that I forgot to back Fraymakers, I should really just start putting money into this stuff early on instead of putting it off lol.
Super smash flash 2 is easily the game I've played the most of full stop. It's gotten to a point where even though I now have a good controller and have had slap city and rivals for about a year now, nothing feels quite as comfortable as firing up ssf2 and moving about with my laptop's shitty keyboard
I started playing SSF2 because I didn’t have an official smash game, nor could my computer run an emulator, but now SSF2 is one of my most played games ever.
That's sadly a very talented fan sprite by TheSmashWaffle, though they have made Papyrus as a Rivals of Aether workshop character.
