I come back to this video every few years. I don't have words for this. I've been developing my skills as a musician and music teacher for a long time but this... this is something special.
Dayum - You just Rocked my Socks right off my feet !! Thank you so much for this. I started Piano @ age4, took lessons until 12-13 or so ... played French horn 9-17 .. and then went off to college and left playing behind. I'm 50 now and about to sit back down at the bench after realizing what has been missing from my life. Thank You for inspiring
Absolutely outstanding! I remember they used to have this piano store in the mall by where I grew up & they also sold organs. I always loved it when they'd get folks who knew how to play the organs & they'd play for hours & folks would stand around, listen & even join in with singing & dancing. Made for a lot of fun. Nowadays, you walk into a piano shop & even think of touching their pianos & the salesmen come out & shoo you away. Thanks for posting this! Merry Christmas! :)
I've seen key clicks and pedal clicks commented elsewhere. The reason you don't hear them on a big pipe organ in a theatre is that console and musician are 20 to 200 feet away and the auditorium absorbs the sound. An electronic organ in a theatre would also not have those noises. It would, generally, sound the same as a pipe. At a price as much as ten thousand times less than that of the pipe, we seem to unreasonably demean home organs. This one is marvelous!
Those are the stoptabs which set up which voices will sound on which keyboards, and in which octave. Just like in a real pipe organ! Most classical organs have stopknobs that you pull out or push in, but it's the same idea.
Damn nice job. I see a Conn 651 on ebay right now for under $1000, hard to believe it went for over $15,000 back in the 70's! Just don't sound enough like the real thing though. I just took the chance to be on a maintenance staff for a Wurlitzer 4/23 (awesome "machine"!) and I'm spoiled now...you would sound good on that!
You are one of the most entertaining organists I've ever heard. Very nice! What is the electronic layout of this organ? I like the sound of transistors when they are filtered good. Must be from a passion for the combo organ. However the Conn sounds very full and I'd like to know more about it. Even with the internet there is still no one stop resource covering ALL electronic organ designs. You can be a Hammond expert in an hour, but my Thomas 287 is nowhere. Had to buy it to find it's LSI
enjoy your playing . did you ever do t.v. themes on your conn before . like say the munsters . maybe some day . again thank sO MUCH POLYWOG 690 INDIANA ,PA.
Dang...this is some HOT playing! We just had a problem with the Wurlitzer at the Organ Piper Music Palace here in Milwaukee tonight...the "fill in"?...None other than the Conn 650! It did very well! I love it!
He trets the mighty conn, positively speaking, like the world's largest farfisa alike organ, in the sense that he is a monster (positively) at playing the organ:-)
What microphone are you using to record your music? I love how you can hear the keys click. It sort of adds an unintentional percussion effect that sounds cool.
I like your ripping playing on something other than a tonewheel jobby (lol). That Conn sounds better anyway. Just saw the movie with Donald Sutherland titled 'Younger and Younger'. I noticed the storage type garage door in your video. Watch thee movie you'll get the reference. Are you familiar with the record ( Mount Vernon Music MSV161) 'Organ Moods - John Winters At The Mighty Wurlitzer Organ'? I am so curious to know which model of Wurlitzer he is playing on this record. Sounds electronic.
Very fine rendition.... Just a question? Is that clacking noise coming from the keys being pressed too hard or is it a sound effect/rhythm? Thanks, J.R. from Miditzer forum
Sir, this is absolutely astounding. Did you improvise this or is this tune written by someone else. In any event, your technique and the soul you put into this is terrific.
Love your playing, but those keys need a good working over by a technician, sounds like a thrashing machine going in the background! But you can really play that!
+20alphabet Not at all! He looks great! And it is a common thing among male musicians, they need not to look like copies and clones like most other men!
@pipeorganistken: I don't agree with your assessment. Watch another YT video with "The Bone Doctor" playing and you'll hear the same clicks. I think the player needs to trim his fingernails. The felt simply can't be worn on every organ he plays. Just a thougth. Knightsix

We had this organ in my house as a kid and my dad played it incessantly
Amazing !!!

A slow burner . To start with . But bloody great

I listen to this when I’m playing Baseball on PlayStation
I love theatre organ! You put the funk in funky, dude. lol
I love the call and response between the two treble keyboards. Jive, baby, jive!
Is That A Conn 650😊❤
wow
That would be a Kinura 16' and two Tibias at 8' and 5-1/3'.
The Bone Doctor
It's a Conn organ?
enjoy your playing . did you ever do t.v. themes on your conn before . like say the munsters . maybe some day . again thank sO MUCH POLYWOG 690 INDIANA ,PA.
@kitthevideoman I did some reading on your comments and found out that George Wright wrote the tune. A superb one it is.
Superb, extremely talented, shame you get the tapping of the keys???? Loved it...
Anything "can be played on the theater organ!" Its the KING of instruments.
My Parrot, Conrad is in the background giving a Gospel shout while you're playing! Don't stop till you drop, man!
Dang...this is some HOT playing! We just had a problem with the Wurlitzer at the Organ Piper Music Palace here in Milwaukee tonight...the "fill in"?...None other than the Conn 650! It did very well! I love it!
There are 7 jealous people who voted this piece down. Awesome bone doctor!
Where can I get the music? I want to learn this one!
*taps foot*

Is it a big step from piano or synthesizer to playing the organ?
Is the steam in the organ or is it something else
+Dylan Russell It's the 'boogie-woogie' steam train waiting to leave.
...or a little spare time to play the boogie while the pressure cooker does the sunday beans! ;-)
Very fine rendition....
Just a question? Is that clacking noise coming from the keys being pressed too hard or is it a sound effect/rhythm?

Sop Bone Doc
Skip to :30 for track..would have loved to hear an headphone output recording, sweet sounds nonetheless,
You boogied the organs woogie;
Ps. About how long did it take you to learn music and also the organ?
Sir, this is absolutely astounding. Did you improvise this or is this tune written by someone else. In any event, your technique and the soul you put into this is terrific.
click click click sounds great click click click
1:12
what is that clicking sound? do you need to trim your fingernails or what.... i did not know casio made a three keyboard,,,, cool
Love your playing, but those keys need a good working over by a technician, sounds like a thrashing machine going in the background! But you can really play that!
With that kind of talent, you oughtta be able to afford a haircut.
+20alphabet Not at all! He looks great! And it is a common thing among male musicians, they need not to look like copies and clones like most other men!
Riskteven
Musicians with woman's length hair isn't a copy? You need to research that notion a bit more.
His hair looks fine enjoy music
